Goodbye Joe

An excellent episode that made me cry, a farewell worthy to the legend Joe.

Weapon reality is pathetic!
simonhi18 December 2018
Not a bad episode, but as with most TV shows these days where weapons are used, the effect and use of them is pathetic.

These are supposed to be trained Navy SEALS and police officers, their hit rate is terrible. They have to pass regular tests and hit the targets accurately. Believe me, I know, I've done it for real.

As for the effects of the weapons again it's pathetic. The RPG would have as good as destroyed the house and everything in it. The mounted machine gun would have killed or injured pretty much everyone within its sights, the attackers wouldn't have got anywhere near the place.

Great way to portray such an iconic character

Warning: Spoilers
Yeah factually it might not be correct but that doesn't take away the fact that this episode was what this series needed. None of this "Chase the baddie with some crazy tackle or smart play", just two guys with a huge past battling for there lives which they have done together for years. I myself believe that this episode was the true meaning of loyalty and what it means to be a seal. R.I.P Joe White. Beloved character who always brought joyful trouble to our tv's.

Good but too much obvious plot
Mira-2932811 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was good. What I didn't like was the "too easy to see plot". I knew from the second they entered that ranch, they'll all gonna died except Steve. I was a good and emotionnal ending for Joe's character. I just wanted more realism, less obvious plot. Like the sniper friend dying first, so predictible. I would have like to see him survive or see a hidden sniper take Joe's life after they though it's over... The shooting was a bit weak, especially when the team shot the bad guys outside. The emotional moment was strong and beautiful but a bit to forced to completely work on me.

Since the Vietnam War, Afghanistan, Iraq

U.S. Military Personnel have been Trained, Tested, and Did

Stop the Bleeding, then Evacuate.

Vietnam War, the use of the new invention of "Super Glue" to seal a wound shut to stop the bleeding.

Afghanistan, Iraq, use of feminine hygiene product, tampons, were pushed into a bullet wound to stop the bleeding.

Accuracy 1, there was only one U.S. Army Special Forces Team, ODA 595, that rode horses.

The U.S. Navy S.E.A.L.s were not at Afghanistan September 2001 to November 2001 when we (300, U.S. Army Special Forces, CIA SAD and SOG) Overthrew the Afghan Taliban Government.

As U.S. Navy S.E.A.L.s are NOT trained for that kind of U.S. Army Special Forces Long Term Mission (Weeks, Months, Years, Decades), only Short Duration U.S. Navy S.E.A.L. Direct Action Missions (Hours).

In later years We were trained at Colorado by the U.S. Army 10th Special Forces Group, to ride horses, use pack horses and pack mules aka "Mule Skinning (how to properly pack and care for pack mules and pack horses)", for our Long Term U.S. Army Special Forces Mountain Warfare Mission Afghanistan.

obviously not filmed in the bitterroot valley montana
sandcrab27711 January 2019
The give away was the norfolk island pines growing outdoors on joe's ranch in the bitterroot valley, montana ... these trees cannot exist outside in freezing temperatures ... i think the writers need a lot of explosive action, ie; misses or near misses to extend the fight scenes ... highly trained operators like the navy seals seldom miss what they are aiming at as well as maximum cover and concealment rather than a junkyard dog fight out in the open ... also, the federal prison security seems rather more lax than would be expected in real life .... so this whole episode was plain fiction from start to finish
