Welcome Capucci!
catvarzi12 July 2019
Roberto Capucci deserved this cinematographic portrait that describes him as one of the greatest couturiers of our time and above all as an artist and a true "silk sculptor". Ottavio Rosati's film joins those who in recent years have been dedicated to Dior, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino, Versace and Lagerfeld. I was moved by the fact that the realization of the DVD that will bring the film directed by Ottavio Rosati around the world (and not only in the gay high culture) is thanks to Jean Vigo Italia and above all by the Istituto Luce Cinecittà. A century ago the Istituto Luce was born by the will of Benito Mussolini. Would he ever have imagined the Duce that one day his film institute would honor a genius, a lover of Caravaggio and Michelangelo, a pacifist and defender not of the power of the Italian nation but of nature and beauty?

Dream

The cross-section of an Italian artist not only of an italian stylist. I found myself in the words of Capucci when he says that for a woman the real beauty is not in the surgical or photoshop retouching. After the vision of the film, I recalled a dream I had months before, where I refused the clothes of a singer and of a scientist in order to reach my own style, my beauty and my identity. Roberto and his creatures of fantasy

Just as it is difficult to create a film from a great literary work, it could now be almost impossible to put into cinema the inimitable genius and unique magic of Roberto Capucci... This film by Ottavio Rosati is a miracle!

FOR CAPUCCI AND ROSATI by Maria Cristina Sidoni (Torino - Italy)
plays-0617613 September 2021
FOR CAPUCCI AND ROSATI by Maria Cristina Sidoni (Torino - Italy) This journey into the world linked to Capucci, a great in fashion, is certainly enriching. The moral stature of this man is truly singular and an example for the beautiful linear authenticity of him. I also emphasize the specialty of making a journey together with the director Rosati, not merely as an introducer and capable companion of the stylist, but as a companion who shares himself along the way. In short, the documentary is about the genius Capucci and, at the same time, remains characterized by the vivacity of Rosati. I found her rigor, her kindness and that special stardust that shines at times in a playfully irreverent way, almost as if to imply that behind the curtain there are many veils that sway and reflect the lights of the heart and of the imagination, lights that make sense of our intelligence. Thanks for this work of art - Maria Cristina Sidoni.

An orgasm for my eyes
irismattera16 July 2019
I have always loved beauty and aesthetics in all its forms and watching The Forbidden Fashion about Roberto Capucci and his friends from Anna Fendi to Raina Kabaivanska, was an ecstasy, an orgasm for my eyes. These dresses are not goods but an excellence that honors Italy in the world. Works of art and, as psychoanalyst Claudio Widman explains, in its special content, it is clear that beauty becomes a cure for the psyche.

Sogno, fantasia, emozioni. E futuro
gbauzano24 July 2019
Roberto Capucci has a wonderful gift. Unique. Being timeless, as is his creativity. His works, of this we speak not of clothes created only to cover, are the result of the imagination of a complete artist. This can frighten you as you approach your work. To his works. Making them inaccessible. Prohibited. Only on the surface. His imagination actually has no coordinates of time and space, borders of inspiration is able to touch the soul of each generation. Thus the film from the imaginative editing of Ottavio Rosati: "The forbidden fashion. Roberto Capucci and the future of Haute Couture", well tells these aspects of the imaginative world of Capucci. In particular, it highlights how one of the fathers of Haute Couture in the broadest sense of the word and of the very concept of Made in Italy excellence is an inspiration without seasons for the new generations, not only of stylists, but also of designers and artists of every discipline. When you look at "Forbidden Fashion" you discover Capucci, you discover the creative power of Italy, the potential of new generations. But you can also dream. With a pinch of the right irony, with a lot of emotion. Gian Luca Bauzano

This movie is an artistic docufilm about an artwork that many Italians artists and tailors should watch. Rosati and Capucci link fashion and images to the inner world. I don't know another couturier who creates drawings from his unconscious psyche for the eternity and not for shops.
