Part of what Peggy is angry about is not getting enough "green stamps" at the grocery store. This is a reference to the S&H Green Stamps program by which stores gave customers special stamps with their purchases. The stamps could then be collected and redeemed for housewares and other items. Blue Chip Stamps operated similarly.
If you look closely you can see that the grocery store where Peggy leaves Baby Andy is actually a redressed version of the same set used as the bank Peggy visits in the opening scene. The rationale is that they are next to each other in a shopping center so it makes sense that the entrance area architecture and view out the door would look the same. But this was done primarily to save on construction costs.
