Does US arrogance/violence/torture/murder=heroism?
charleshp5 January 2019
At the time of writing, the average rating of US viewers is 8.0 but of non-US viewers it is 3.0. Perhaps the rest of us don't understand what is heroic about torturing someone and then flying to a neutral country to get revenge and shoot anyone who happens to stand in the hotel corridor in your way. Then carry on shooting people in front of the young son and wife of the guy you've gone to kill. That's all the behaviour of the heroic American good guys.

Terrible episode

Even more implausible than usual. Utterly dire episode. So it's okay for the team to undertake an illegal revenge attack. Makes the characters truly unlikeable. I miss the first couple of seasons before these ridiculous story lines started.

Disappointing

Warning: Spoilers
I'm really tired of these episodes with so much random killing. I watch the show to see Hawai'i and my favorite characters. They were barely in Hawai'i. I don't want to see Montana and Laos. I hope the next episode is better. I miss my favorite show. Ugh, and Catherine is back. 😡 She has broken McGarrett's heart more than once. I don't want to see her any more!

Pathetic!

Warning: Spoilers
Appearently members of Five-O can again torture, and travel worldwide, at will. CBS and the writers seem to believe that as long as the characters seem to have "righteous" anger, it does not matter what they do. They are very wrong about that. Ready to dump this show and watch Tom and Jerry cartoons if I want to see implausible stories.

So revenge is ok if your buddies have been killed but not if it was your parents?????? So here we see our brave hero perform illegal acts of torture on a foreign national, then take a team using government resources to fly 10,000 miles to a neutral sovereign state to kill the man who ordered the hit on the team who illegally killed his parents 16 years before. The writers here have lost all sense with this and the previous episode. Hawaii Five-0 does not need these far too over the top episodes. What caps the stupidity of this particular episode is them murdering everyone in sight (yes murder as they have no legal right to do what they have) and there be no consequences for Steve & the team, but all the henchmen get arrested, like really???? An episode that wasted the usually brilliant David Keith and the always dependable Chris Vance. All this just to take out the least believeable antagonist in the series' history. And please CBS, stop bringing back the terrible Catherine, a not very believeable spy/agent and the relationship angle between her and McGarrett needs to be put to bed.

Have I got this right?

So McGarrett can just rustle up a plane and fly thousands of miles to another country, and then just indiscriminately shoot the place up? And the local authorities are fine with this? I bet Trump wishes he had that kind of power. :)

And what did happen to the bad guy anyway?

I used to enjoy Five-0 but this seasons has plumbed the depths.

Classic revenge
Mira-2932811 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I saw some very harsh review and I can understand why. But to me, it's a classic revenge episode. Nothing really different from the begining of the show or others US show... You know, the hero gathers a team, goes dirty to have infos, tracks down some guys, kills a bunch of no name and gets revenge. Big classic. I like it even if I wonder where the hell they had the money to finance such an operation (the fligh, guns, locals, the casino...).I like the rythme, the tension of the track. Quite cool. I still love to see Harry so a good point here. I like how they use Catherine this time. I find her usefull and at her place, not like her last appearence (so random!). The skeleton's investigation was OK, a bit weak compare to the other plot.

Running on Empty

Quite apart from the illegality of the murder and mayhem perpetrated by Five Oh Members, I was wondering how their C130 managed to fly 7000+ miles from Montana to Laos. It has a max range of under 4000 Km. I'm increasingly frustrated by the poor scripts and plots being churned out for this show. I think it's long passed its 'jumping the Shark' moment

Sickening

Warning: Spoilers
This episode just sickened me. Like the other reviews have said the use of torture was just unnecessary and have definitely dented how I view Mcgarrett as a character. As a SEAL it was his job to do unpleasant tasks but this was for his own personal revenge. Aside from that it turned into yet another Steve and Catherine's relationship episode and had them basically bonding over the torture of someone and the fallout from it.
