So What Did We Learn Tonight?
sevenlilxenos21 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day to kill all of the Walkers that you have to.

No one else can make a good old fashion pre-battle pep talk like Rick could.

After all those years Negan still very deeply misses Lucille.

Carol would have made a good boy scout as she always comes prepared.

Alpha takes her borders very seriously and isn't afraid to change them.

Lack of sleep and popping speed can be a deadly combo especially if you start thinking that you are Carol Crocker.

Negan always looks at the big picture and thinks two steps ahead.

Getting Walker blood tainted with wild radishes in your eyes can be quite painful and disorientating.

Aaron's metallic spiked arm is even cooler than Merle's was.

Even when she is just hanging around Carol is a lethal Walker killer.

Best line of the night: I was hoping that I would be re-zoned into Love town.

ANOTHER solid episode
conca-628-18337220 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was yet another great episode.

We had more great character interactions; Negan & Aaron was great, I feel like they could become friends or could finally trust each other as Negan says he's a changed man and not like before. Carol & Alpha's confrontation was intense and I'm so excited for the next time they come face to face! We are starting to see how much Henry's death has affected Carol and how much it is still affecting her. Carol is seeing him, taking pills & not in a great place

There were so many great moments in this episode but still feel like the episode was slow but I guess that's what the episode was about.

Overall, another great episode into Season 10 and next weeks looks like a belter! Rating: 8.2 out of 10!

Hallucinations
claudio_carvalho23 October 2019
Alexandria is under hourly attack of hordes of walkers for almost two days and the dwellers are exhausted. Lydia discloses that this type of strategy is unusual to her mother that would rather send a massive attack. Gamma comes to Alexandria and tells that they need to meet Alpha unarmed at the North border. Daryl, Michonne and Carol go to the encounter with Alpha that tells that she knows they crossed the border three times but she will not punish them. Meanwhile the resented Aaron is assigned to fight the walkers with Negan in the South. Carol is keeping awake using medication and has hallucinations with the Whisperers.

"Ghosts" is a great and promising episode of "The Walking Dead" with many walkers and a story like in the "old times". Fans of this series will certainly enjoy with "The Walking Dead" back on tracks. The deranged Alpha and the Whisperers will certainly be another powerful enemy of the survivors. My vote is eight.

Title (Brazil): "Fantasmas" ("Ghosts")

Note: On 07 January 2024, I saw this episode again.

Carol Owned This Episode.

Warning: Spoilers
Another fantastic episode. Incredibly intense and erie; felt like a psychological horror movie.

We finally got to see Carol interact with a big antagonist on the show, and it did not dissapoint. And when she fought those walkers upside down; I'd go straight for Carol honestly. 10/10 !

Not enough
MNR87BPF21 October 2019
Three episodes now .. I keep watching as an experiment.. can't believe how bad and boring this is .. there were maybe two thrills in it and for a second a Horror feeling .. like they noticed that they actually do a horror series .. but that's by far not enough .. so sad .. they should focus again on a group and let them travel and find new places and a new feeling and tone to it .. what happened to the big cities ?

Good episode, good action
mkystraightedge20 October 2019
Slowly but surely, The Whisperer War is coming. Episodes like these are important, cause TWD had a bit of a pace problem generally, and when you're bored following episodes like these it makes your attention fried for the ultimate outcome of all the things. After that Whisperer-focused filler episode, this was more exciting and actually got the story developed. Still, there is a need for that 9+ episode, but one hopes that episode arrives soon. This episodes was 8, but close to 7. Negan-Aaron stuff was quite interesting, since Negan behaved as good(?)old Negan for sometime. Carol and what she's been through is kinda boring IMO, because she had been through a lot and yes, "The Calm Before" was on another level but it's just getting more stale than ever to see Carol this way. Overall, a good episode with a bunch of good scenes, it could get 7.5 but not here (LOL) so a bit generous, 8.

THE HORROR IS BACK IN THE SHOW!
dayolo-4605921 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
First of all before we start with the pros and cons, this was an amazing episode! I got chills throughout and I felt like I was watching a movie Pros: -I LOVED the intro with the music and sound effects it really fit the walking dead
  • that scene with alpha and Carol was stressing.
It was amazingly acted scene between Samantha and Melissa -Negan and Aaron's were also good. When did Aaron turn from a sweethearted guy to calling out negan about his wife? -Carol's PTSD scenes were terrifying. When she looked at the book I was really happy they adding in all of Carol's children -That jumpscare got me and it was surprising since TWD doesn't do much of those for a horror show. -that ending shot with the whisperer's eyes was a great ending to a great episode CONS -bit slow

Always Watching
ThomasDrufke21 October 2019
While not necessarily a bad thing, this felt like the type of episode that The Walking Dead would put out a few years ago. Especially following a flashback heavy episode last week, I figured there may be a little bit more sense of urgency with The Whisperer storyline. But I have to remember this is a 16 episode arc and there will be plenty of 'filler' episodes, let's just hope they're good.

One of the things I love that they established with The Whisperers is there mysterious ability to monitor the crew without showing themselves. Sure, we had that long staredown a few weeks back with Carol & Alpha, but since the massacre in episode 9.15 last year, there hasn't been a ton of interaction between the two groups, at least as much as there were with The Saviors. But that in itself lends itself to a creepier vibe and aesthetic.

Is this the first time we've had a pill-popping storyline on The Walking Dead? It feels like it. Every TV show has to do it, it's like a requirement... All jokes aside, if I'd buy anyone getting themselves in trouble with drugs/pills, it would probably be Carol. And I enjoyed all of the hallucination sequences, which is like free thrills/horror. The Aaron/Negan dynamic was interesting too. As Ross Marquand said on Talking Dead, this is essentially the first time they have had extended scenes together, and a chance to catch up on all the horror Negan has brought to Aaron and his friends/family.

All in all, it's forgettable but still well done in many areas. I have a good feeling about this season, but it still has a ways to go before we get back to the quality of season 9.

Creepy and Brilliant
nicsoddd21 October 2019
Wow, I will start by saying that the background they gave Carol during the episode is amazing, it was very good. I really liked the horror moments. It's great to see the characters immersed in moments of despair and to see how they develop is brilliant.

potential wasted
golden_fighter_00920 October 2019
The potential of this episode was wasted, what could have been the most bestest episode of the entire series was thrown away in drain, i stopped questioning the situations of how that could be different than real world or something like that but this episode was just so disappointing, had cringe dialogues, alot of talking, i dont know if i can tell either it was canon or a filler. though it was a canon but 8:2 8 being the filler

It was better than the first 2 episodes
tyshaneyfelt21 October 2019
I have to admit, I started watching the show with low expectations and I was almost certain that this episode was going to be another crap sandwich that I was going to bite into, but I will say - I was actually into this episode; especially with the Negan scenes. To be honest, if Alpha would lose that ridiculous country accent, her character would be more believable and intimidating. My only wish is that Negan would somehow get to be one of the leaders. Negan in his hay day wouldn't put up with this crap and he would put on a better show rather than the others pandering to whatever Alpha wants. Carol needs to go, to many issues this character has and it's played out and exhausting. I liked how there more involvement with the walkers. That's it for me. Let's keep it up AMC, hopefully good episodes will continue.

Well Executed and a Brilliantly written episode.
neganscomingback20 October 2019
This episode was able to do what they couldn't previously in season 8 and that being juggling many different plots at once and not make it a complete and utter mess. Angela Kang was able to organize this season and last into something that this show needed, a new perspective that we hadn't seen before for these characters and this episode proves it.

This season is going down as one of the worst. Just rudderless and stumbling as badly as the dead.

Feeling full

Not a bad episode, fairly enjoyable in fact. A lot of action including large-scale zombie attacks coming near constantly which helps to fill it up and feel full.

Great start
bebbingtonpeter22 October 2019
For the first time in a long time this was genuinely scary. Love how it's also exploring the characters mental challenges instead of just killing Walkers etc. The trap scene was epic and the ending was very cinematic which has got me pumped for next week

Suspense.
cruise0121 October 2019
4.5 out of 5 stars.

The episode delivers on more zombie bashing action. When the group are facing hordes of undead. Which Michonne and her people are threatened. Which they need to meet Alpha to settle their conflict.

Lots of action. Carols sanity is questioned. Negan and Aaron settle their conflict. The episode is good and suspenseful.

The Walking into BS
saull2825 October 2019
Just dumb decisions, dumb drama, I'm done with this series, this is the last episode I will watch,. Nothing but recycled idiocy and never getting anywere, it was good up to before Negan, Negan was over dramatic and now this crap storyline, be passive and never do anything to end it, just more and more drama, too bad, maybe refresh writers, but anyway I won't see how this continues and ends, good luck with it

Horror and Mistery
martincalderon-8301821 October 2019
Seriously, there were moments in the episode that looked like horror. I find it very interesting the issue of traumas and the madness that is being lived (and apparently we will have more of this, I love it) It seems like a chilling way in which Carol is taken during the episode, I was wondering what it was real. The conflict continues to be carried out in a very good way between our protagonists and the whisperers, definitely a strangely satisfying episode.

Well directed and written episode that gives us horror and remarkable character moments
Holt34421 October 2019
This season have so far been superb and this episode gives us an even better episode than the first two that was excellent, this episode gave us an opening so good that it just made me sit on the edge of my seat, truly great editing right there, the horror is upon us. The rest of the episode also has some great editing and directing from David Boyd who has been with the show since the start, his cinematography is just stunning in this episode. The writing and dialogue was perfect, all the character development to the callbacks and references. Angela Kang and company are really doing it this season with its writing, loving it! This was truly an interesting episode where paranoia plays a big part of the episode and with its clever editing and nice pacing it really felt that we were in the shoes of our survivors. It was great with nothing negative, I liked the cameo that was seen at some certain points in the episode won't spoil who it was though.

Seeing Ross Marquand and Jeffrey Dean Morgan play out their scenes together was incredible as their performances was perfect, I have never seen that great acting from Ross that was just magnificent! Josh McDermitt and Melissa McBride also had strong performances this episode, these actors, the whole ensemble are really showing their strength with great performances.. How they have grown both as actors and their respective characters. This episode is what makes The Walking Dead good, unexpected moments and moments that we can see the horror that the characters are facing. I wish the rest of the episodes have this quality.

The goosebumps are REAL.
domienbraeckevelt20 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The moment that the group and alpha are talking to each other was amazing. You wanted to kill this villain so bad. Props to the actress!!

And that one jumpscare really got me. The suspense during this episode was not normal. Loved this episode.
