Better than the last season's battles from Game of Thrones
Genti268 March 2020
This battle is looking amazing and I am so excited to see the upcoming episodes as well. So far these three episodes have been some of the best Walking Dead ever.

Best Episode of the Season
jesseholtphotg8 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Fantastic Episode! and we aren't even at the Finale yet! Character Development is strong and the story line is fitting so perfectly in this season. Alpha and the whisperers are becoming more terrifying every episode. If all goes well, the ending of season 10 could bring back alot of fans if the episodes are as good as this one.

The Long Night at Hilltop
ThomasDrufke9 March 2020
I know I wasn't the only one thinking of the similarities between this episode of The Walking Dead and the lead up to the Long Night episode on Game of Thrones last year. The tone, character choices, and even placement of a character singing a song felt eerily similar. The good thing is, the episode was stellar besides those facts.

For the first time since last year's "heads on spikes" episode, I truly felt like some of the fan-favorites were vulnerable to be killed off. Not that I legitimately believe AMC would knock out either Daryl or Carol, but at least the writing and direction made you think something bad could happen to them or any of the other main cast who were located outside of Hilltop as The Whisperers moved in.

I loved the use of Negan's tactic of blocking their way out via the roads, just as he did in the season 6 finale, giving the heads up to the crew that he has apparently switched sides. But it does seem as though Judith could be the wild card in all this if she gets in trouble and Negan is alerted. Perhaps he's the one who saves the day and kills Alpha to save Judith, as she seems to be the only one he cares about amongst the main crew.

But it also begs the question of if this will be the end to the Whisperer War or is it really just getting started? I love the conflict, but I also don't hate the idea that The Walking Dead may end this arc way earlier than they usually do, especially when you think about how stale people thought the war against The Saviors felt. At the very least, we know someone big is going down next week.

One of the best episode with some of the best character development in the entire series!
theslitherking8 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
WOW! Without a doubt I can say that episode 11 titled Morning Star is the best episode of Season 10 (So far) After last week, our characters know of the threat that is coming and must decide weather to run or fight. Upon learning running isn't an option. They know that they must fight, and they are ready to. Even if it means dying to protect their home. One moment I thought was super cool was Daryl realization that Negan has joined Alpha, when he instantly sees the men on trees hung, and the trees blocking every road. episode is an absolute ride with some of the best character development we have ever seen. The interactions between characters like Alden/Aaron, Daryl/Judith, Eugene/Rosita, Daryl/Ezekiel, were all absolutely amazing. This episode featured some of the best Direction, wirting, and soundtrack I've witnessed throughtout the whole series. When the battle does start to commence, we see some kickass music as Daryl grabs his morning star and lines up with his comrades. The fight was very reminiscent of the walker fight in No Way Out, while it doesn't last long, we still get a nice montage of some fast and nice kills. The entirety of the last 15 minutes feels extremely Game of Thrones esque, and had a bit of everything that I have wanted from this season. The only con, if any, I could suggest about this episode is that the starting dragged a little, but even those moments were filled with good dialogue in between. I am extremely excited for the conclusion of this wild battle coming up next week! 🔥🔥🔥 Score: 9.5/10 (Great)

The Walking Dead just made Game of Thrones look like a joke
Martin_West1228 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, this was a slow, character driven episode packed with interesting dialouge, buildup and action.

One thing I think this program does really well is to embrace the different characters' relationships. We got to see more of the strong friendship between Rosita and Eugene, Alden and Earl's father and son relationship, as well as a strong and meaningful conversation between Carol and Lydia. Despite all the trouble Carol has been through, Daryl shows great empathy in a moving scene before the episode ends with a bang that makes Game of Thrones look like a junior team. An exceptionally good sequence where the group looses on Alpha's horde, but The Whisperers have an ace up in their sleeve.

It will be very interesting to see what next week brings ...

I really hope that Negan will come back the OLD Negan i always loved
horrorules10 March 2020
I am honest, if, tiredly, I still follow this show it is ONLY AND EXCLUSIVELY for Negan, he is the only good thing left, but partly because of that disgusting comic, partly for these incapable writers, his character has ruined, even if now it seems that the old Negan, the one who terrified with his diabolical smile, with his way of whistling and with his ferocity is FINALLY to return, enough redemptions, enough Negan playing with that stupid and hateful brat. And in this umpteenth boring episode, seeing Negan march with the whisperers gave me some hope of seeing that evil genius I loved from the first moment. So I hope the show doesn't follow that pathetic comic and that Negan goes back to being what it is: THE EVIL. For the rest, the usual thing, useless dialogues, 50 minutes to prepare an attack, and this is one of the problems of TWD, in addition to the fact that 10 seasons are too many (it should have ended years ago), but there are too many episodes, 16? really? At least Negan will return the TRUE Negan and save that little dignity left at this weak show.

My rating is 6 only for Negan

Fake accounts uprating this ever worsening series
random-7077810 March 2020
It is just laughable that so many accounts use the exact same diction and phrasing, Literally zombie reviews/rating here as the real world ratings CRASH as viewers abandon the show with this last two seasons MESS and idiocy. Still no answer to the basic question: why are the protagonists not just shooting the whisperers?

Warning: Spoilers
But still it feels a bit like Winterfell. Haven't we seen this before ? Although entertaining, there are some illogical points, like no escape route in any direction...? Since when are the Whisperers such good archers....? The character developments & interactions are good & interesting, with Eugene, Carol, Ezekiel. Not a bad episode, but certainly NOT the best of the season

Surprisingly many give this episode a 10/10
nipsuysikolme9 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
98% boring small talk, saying their goodbyes as if they are about to die...

and a tiny fight with some walkers without any problems... and some extra was also put on fire by the expert archers the whisperers happened to have.

Not sure what made this a perfect 10/10 episode for almost everyone writing reviews.

And whoever wrote that this episode put Game of Thrones to shame is an idiot, or was paid to write that.

Building and building
davisond-957308 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is one of the slowest that season has delivered but that doesn't make it bad in anyway.

We have so many character interactions that are joyful, emotional and interesting at the same time from Earl and Alden debating what do with Gamma who has arrived at Hilltop to find her Nephew as well as Judith who has painted and repaired Daryl's vest. Carol has a heart to heart moment with Ezekiel and Lydia, a very truthful conversation.

Meanwhile the plot thickens and slowly builds up just enough to notice that we are in for a big treat in the next and upcoming episodes. The whisperers plans to attack the Hilltop have set in motion as help from Negan to block all paths with fallen trees and the scouts being murdered, we are in for a huge battle.

The attention to detail with characters like Kelly who with a lack of hearing has a much improved sense ability being able to tell the horde is on the way, other small details like the scurrying rats increases the suspense.

The final 10 mins of the episode is a walker bloodbath as they approach the electric fences set up by Eugene and the barbered wire barely holding them off the Hilltop Walls. The whisperers are smart and stay behind the dead as they shoot gasoline and fire arrows towards the survivors sending the community and side characters up in the flames.

The episode is slow but all the dialogue and pacing really shows how Angela Kang has saved the show and I wouldn't even say this is the best of the season, one of the best as a whole

This is how you do a cliffhanger!
tylergeebs8 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Episode was very heavy with character interaction which i loved because it linked to them preparing for the fight that could potentially kill them all so tension between everywhere was pretty big but at the same time still fit in some heartwarming moments which i love so i didn't really see the talking as filler as again it was all linked to their impending doom approaching.

Last 10 minutes of the episode consisted of straight up action which was awesome, the electric fence was freaking great! and knowing this was only the build up episode gets me more excited for the next episode so good job angela!

It works
Leofwine_draca7 April 2022
A much better episode, this one, almost like the glory days of earlier series. It's obviously heavily inspired by GAME OF THRONES and in particular the episode "The Longest Night", but I won't hold that against it as when this works, it works.

The Whisperer War has begun
ninjaboyballer9 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was just as good if not better then last episode. I really like all the stuff that goes down at Hilltop as well as the stuff with Negan and Alpha at the whisperer camp. Its all good and the character interactions were really well handled, including the scenes with Carol and Ezekial and Daryl and Judith, which in my opinion are some of the best scenes in the episode (plus it's just really cute to see Daryl and Judiths relationship). I like the Eugene stuff with Stephanie though it just feels a bit too much setup for season 11 even though I am excited to see what they do with the Commonwealth. Plus kinda feel bad for Magana because she couldn't see her nephew. The setup to the battle was executed well enough though I do have a few questions about where the whisperers learned how to use battle tactics. But that doesn't take away from the mini battle at the end which just has excellent cinematography and the Hilltop is burning down holy crap. I think now we have finally seen what Alpha and the whisperers are truly capable of and how they aren't just some joke. She even says that she wants them to join her but as part of her horde

Overall really good episode with a cliffhanger that leaves me aching for the next episode. Still wondering if Negan is really on Alpha's side though. Plus it looks like next episode has a much higher budget then some of the other episodes of the show

Final rating: 8.8/10

The illogical window
Rob-O-Cop8 March 2020
So there's a group of people who embrace the zombie world and have found a way to walk amongst them. They seek to embrace the loner life, don't talk much and are kind of a bit bonkers-nuts-psychopaths, like really mad yelling at cars on a street corner level nuts, BUT,...... they're also expert at warfare, well practiced, and expert archers, like they've been drilling for years like a well oiled regiment and graduated top of their class in syncronised swimming or something,

and they don't do guns, cos ambling zombies don't do guns, except they do do guns and have lots, and are well practiced at them too, even though they keep themselves silent and whispery, they have a silent shooting range probably.

And they developed cool water (petrol) balloon technology, and herding techniques cos they all used to be sheep farmers or something only they don't need trained dogs any more, they control zombie herds with their minds, or some such rubbish.

And last 2 weeks the whisperers numbers were scant, so much so that Daryl could get right up to alpha and have a little bit of quiet time with her, but this week, there are military lines of them,....... out numbered out gunned in a fortress.

But Daryl managed to get a couple of good nights sleep so his mortal wounds are all healed now although he was rolling round like a soccer player with a stubbed toe last week, he's fine now, same with Alpha,........ can't stress how important a good nights sleep is for dealing with serious battle field wounds, you don't know cos you weren't in Nam, or Iraq, you wouldn't understand,

But it's a10 out of 10 'Great (est??) Episode in this sease(o)n' and lots of people agree, just like last weeks head scratcher was "halloween vibes finally!!!, BEST EPISODE OF THE SEASON!, Creepy, The best episode of the season" , with a one line review and post,

Did you ever feel like you were being conned? cos it feels a lot like this.

Come on people (including you lazy paid shills turning in half ars-d smoke blowing reviews, although should we really expect much more from the team that delivered this rubbish?)

Do better work or step aside. you're messing up the side walk.

Intense episode and great build up
panagiotis199316 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
''This is gonna be the fight of our lives''. Negan is now ''officialy'' a whisperer, wearing a mask and walking like a walker. Eugene is searching for love, I really hope he finds it. Carol and Ezekiel seem to be back together again? Interesting. Im kind of sad that Ezekiel has a tumor, I wonder if this means that he will die because of it. I love how Daryl immediately understood that Negan was behind the trees blocking the roads. Eugene's singing was nice, didn't know he could sing. I would love for Eugene to meet Stephanie now that he knows her location but im a bit worried that this could be a trap, you never know.

Michonne is nowhere to be seen just like the previous episode which sucks. The relationship between Judith and Daryl is the most adorable thing, love their chemistry. Finally we see Alpha using her horde. The scene with everyone preparing for battle gave me chills! I love that Gamma betrayed the Whisperers and she is fighting for the good guys. Beta was only in one scene but his presence was really intense like always. I really want to see what Negan's plans are, he seems to enjoy the brutality and chaos that Alpha has in mind and he encourages her. The fact that the Whisperers used fire as a weapon I think was very smart. The cliffhanger at the end of the episode was very good. This whole episode felt like a solid build up for something epic to come, I hope that next episode is full of epic. Solid episode, its a 8/10 for me, excited for what's next.
