Two incidents are mentioned after the support group meeting: the Aurora incident of 1897, and the McMinnville photos. The Aurora incident happened when a UFO allegedly crashed into a local judge's windmill on his farm in Aurora, TX. A badly disfigured body was found "not of this world" according to a newspaper report. The body was buried in a church cemetery with a stone epitaph resembling the spacecraft. The body and headstone disappeared decades later. The McMinnville photos refer to a series of photos taken on a farm in McMinnville, OR in 1950 of a UFO in flight. The photos have never fully been confirmed or discredited as real or fake.
Spencer Garrett (General Blackstone) previously played a role in "To Prey in Darkness", a 1997 episode of Dark Skies which also featured an attempt to get information regarding the Roswell Incident out to the public.
The term "active shooter" became part of the lexicon in mid 1960s- 1970s.
As Harding is packing up to go to Roswell, actor Neal McDonough stands in front of a portrait of President Eisenhower, whom he played in American Horror Story and the resemblance of the two men is obvious.
