This Hollywood Fiction Is Better than Washington Fact
mgconlan-125 March 2019
The author of "Hollywood Fiction" above gets much of this show wrong. The correct terms for immigrants are not "legal" and "illegal," but "documented" and "undocumented." This reviewer is almost certainly a political supporter of the current U.S. President, whereas one of the reasons I watch "Madam Secretary" regularly (and, when it was still on, watched "Designated Survivor" as well) is to be reminded of a time when the U.S. was still being run by people with intelligence and common decency, whom I could respect even when I disagreed with them politically, who were obviously working for the common good and not just to aggrandize their own egos and enrich themselves and their friends. I'm a bit more sympathetic to opponents of vaccination than the writers of this show, but the main point about the immigration crisis as it's depicted here is that our leader's willful denial of climate change and reversal of his predecessor's inadequate but right-minded policies to deal with it is just speeding the total destruction of earth's environment as suitable for human life. The immigrants in this program are literally fleeing their homelands because rising sea levels are rendering their homelands non-existent. What, in the mind of the "Hollywood Fiction" author, are they supposed to do -- just drown?

Hard hitting

One of the best things about this show is the way in which it doesn't shy away from tackling the major issues that are crippling the US head on. In this episode, demonstrating exactly the potential health catastrophe that the moronic anti-vaccine movement is risking. Be a fool, get called out on it.

Our weekly dose of reality

Once again this show addresses real issues facing the world. Like climate deniers, anti-Vaccors are creating real problems for the rest of us. Even if a young child is vaccinated they are vulnerable until they've had a booster at age four.

Not pulling punches

Refreshing to watch a network television show that has the courage to address the very real dangers denialism poses to society. You can have your own options but not your own facts. Vaccinations work. Herd immunity must be maintained for infants & immunocompromised. Facts matter regardless of politics.

Entertainment please

I used to really enjoy this show. It's now become a weekly hourlong lecture. The Wedt Wing was able to enlighten without preaching. Why not MSec?

A not to "big pharma conspiracy" theorists
bonzi3 May 2019
Consider, morons: what brings bigger profit, once or twice in a lifetime vaccine, or medication and life support equipment for the ill? Vaccine production has to be subsidized, and practically all research done by charities and government, because it is unprofitable. "Big pharma" *is* (partially) evil, but this is totally off target.

Then explain how smallpox has been eradicated. Also, how comes that the last holdout of polio are two or three pockets where radical Muslim clerics harangue against vaccination (in part thanks to US intelligence/special forces/whatever masquerading as health aid workers - not, *that* would be something to address in the show.)

Too preachy
cjde341-736-3302082 April 2019
I consider myself liberal, but this show is getting far too sanctimonious for its own good. Yes, it's attempting to educate and to point out the conspiracy-theory, Trumpish nonsense that's contributing to the epidemic of misinformation, but this season seems incredibly preachy. And Bess seems to be capable of solving any global crisis that hits her office. The show needs more realism and less idealism, otherwise, judging by the other comments, it's just polarizing the viewers in a way that is self-defeating - just like the politics of today. The West Wing tackled political drama much better.

Far Left Drivel
hurstpj25 March 2019
This show used to be sooo good, but it has spiraled downward into an abyss of far left drivel. It's straight from the Socialist play book. Canceled.

Vaccinate! Vaccinate! Vaccinate!
johndsanford27 March 2019
This episode was unwatchable. Not only is Tea absent, but the entire episode was a shameless propaganda piece for big pharmaceutical. "Vaccinate or we will all die!!!! ...from measles." Don't drink the kool aid.

This episode should have a disclaimer "Written by and for Big Pharma"
prfctpatrn27 March 2019
An advertisement for mandatory vaccination, unconstitutional violations of individual rights, and contains massive amounts of patently false information about measles. Ironically, just a day after this broadcast, Rockland County NY effectively place all unvaccinated kids under house arrest and place their parents under threat of jail for not complying with a draconian vaccination law. WTF pandemic measles? Conflating Ebola with Measles?

No Longer a Show, Only Leftist Lobbying and Agenda-Pushing
momwithavision14 January 2024
It's a shame! This was such an excellent series. I believe this show was canceled after only 6 seasons due to the turn it began to take in the 4th season. This episode was where it fell off to the abyss of no return. Sure wish there could have been many more years of M-Sec. This is one of my favorite series ever. I've watched through completely a couple of times and have watched through to this point many more times. I always want the series to continue as it started. The relationships within the McCord family are well developed in this series, as are the ones among the colleagues in M-Sec's office. Perhaps writers and producers will take note of our concerns for future productions.
