Hijack: Brace Brace Brace (2023)
Incredibly bad writing combined with implausibility
Post-9/11, a flight would immediately be shot down if it was anywhere near any city considered a potential target. Any hijacked aircraft is considered a flying terrorist bomb. Passengers know this, and would not sit by and be submissive. Passengers on United Flight 93 understood that fact and any country with a hijacked plane flying over it understands that fact. The flight would have been shot down over Turkey.
Additionally, they would not be low on fuel with a slight course deviation. Pilots don't give up the cockpit. Terrorists agreeing to a fake ground evacuation? Lazy writing - just another example of how the writers don't understand air transportation in this entire series.
The premise of doing this all as stock short on Kingdom Airlines is another ludicrous plot twist. Any transactions would be frozen and not settled - the perpetrators would get zero.
This last episode is the worst of a badly written series. Completely ludicrous.
The Fall: Darkness Visible (2013)
Absurd sexual liaison ruins episode
In an otherwise great episode, the absurd sexual liaison ruins it. Any senior investigating officer who wants to keep their job knows bloody better than to openly inviting a junior officer to her hotel room for sex while in the front of other police officers. Totally unbelievable.
Buried Secrets (2018)
Typical Lifetime Movie...
Typical Lifetime Movie... So many plot holes and unbelievable actions by characters that it stretches the believability. Eye candy of male and female actors can't save the typical unbelievable plot. Weak acting by all involved but there is not much material to work with.
12 Hours to Live (2006)
Wooden
Similar to what others have said, the plot had a promise at the beginning but fizzles out badly, as only a Lifetime movie can do. Contrived with the all-to-predictable Lifetime redemption ending is too much to handle.
Ione Skye gives an absolutely wooden performance, mostly running around in her FBI baseball cap trying to prove her worth to the Lifetime stock evil-man character played by Kim Coates as another FBI agent. I was waiting for Ione Skye to do the Charlies' Angel shake of the hair before kneeling down with pistol drawn and yelling, "Freeze!" While easy on the eyes, Ione Skye is a terrible actress, at least in this vehicle.
Michael Moriarity's cameo is absolutely meaningless. It was as if the producers added the character so they could have his name on the credits. Hey, it worked as I only watched via "On Demand" because of his name.
Kevin Durand gives a credible performance as the bad guy, although the bad plot makes even his overall performance mediocre. Brittney Wilson is hard to like as the kidnapping victim, but she and the other actors weren't given a viable script... or direction... or much of anything else but a typical Lifetime formula B movie.
Watch only if you have nothing else to watch.
Aliens (1986)
Doesn't beat Alien (1979)
For all the rock 'em, sock 'em action that other reviewers heap love on James Cameron's Aliens over the original Ridley Scott version, I still prefer the haunting tension of the original Alien (1979). Aliens is simply really all non-stop action (extremely entertaining nonetheless!); that's what some prefer. The tension and the unknown in Alien gets you really scared.... And I prefer the original. (BTW, don't watch the further sequels, they are simply hollow Hollywood attempts to rake in money on the Alien series name.) Cameron's Aliens is still exciting and worth the roller coaster trip. (Bill Paxton is quite entertainingly over the top as a whining Marine. )
Ridley Scott's Alien plays havoc with your mind. Still giving Aliens a strong 7; Alien gets a 9.
Boston Public (2000)
The best (inadvertent) advertisement NOT to be a teacher
While I thoroughly enjoy the show about a inner city high school, this well written show nonetheless is a little too over the top. The show has already hit too many "lightning bolt" issues without adequately developing the characters for the long term. It's almost like the show's producers are trying to cram (pardon the school pun) two years worth of topics into the first shows. If a real high school had this many antics, the entire staff would have been reprimanded or dismissed. If anyone is considering becoming a high school teacher, I would recommend them NOT seeing this show.... you'd be crazy to ever take up the profession.
