The Order (2001)
Not good enough
Hey, I can enjoy an action movie and do now and then. It can be great fun just leaning back and watch the badguys getting a well deserved spanking.
But the Order has been judged and found lacking. Van Dammes fighting is ok but neither good nor spectacular (though I'm in no way competent to judge martial arts, just what I find exciting), and the plot isn't very good, and thats with the expectations you'd put on a film like this. The Quest and Double Team are much better. So all in all, this is for Van Damme fans. The rest of us better see another film.
A Knight's Tale (2001)
Anachronism at its best!
Dont expect a correct retelling of times gone by. Instead, bring along a few friends and enjoy this movie, cheer for the good guy and live merrily ever after. Hit anyone who says "that's not how they did it" with a stick, while they're asleep... Anyway! If you're looking for a bit of humor and well done jousting, see this one. I recommend it.
Merlin (1998)
Enjoyable
This was a new approach to the Arthurian legends, and I must say it was quite good. You get to see it from Merlin's point of view, you see how he tried to develop the history etc. Sam was great as Merlin (lose the helmet!) and Short was great as Frik :) In all, a new, enjoyable twist. However, it left me thirsting for "Excalibur".
Outbreak (1995)
Better then I expected
Outbreak started out with a bang so to say, the first scene was really strong. The movie is a "what if"-movie in the same sense as Dante's Peak or HMS Poseidon. However, it deals with viruses, unknown and deadly. The movie moves in a straight line from point A to B, events follow in a (seemingly) logical line and no obvious goofs were seen. There's suspense, deceit, a hero and heroic work to be done. I liked the movie, mainly for the way it showed how the military might handle a situation like this. Rent this one.
