Happiness (1998)
Art and trash never looked so similar
Why does it seem a movie that has all the quality of a very well "put together" movie needs to have ingredients like child molestation to get attention. This movie has nothing in it but trash. All told though it was well "put together".
Snitch (1998)
Rough and Real
Denis Leary shows us he's an extremely talented actor when given the right role and a good script. Being from the Boston area doesn't hurt either. The movie shows just how trapped he was in his "business" and blind to its violence. Take it from a Bostonian, there's no sugar coating on this one. If you like modern mob movies, see this film. You won't be disappointed.
A Night at the Roxbury (1998)
A fun comedy
I'll be the first to say after the first 5 minutes it looked as if the next 70 or so would be difficult to get through. I was wrong. It came across stupid but fun. The soundtrack was also one of the bright spots. A movie I recommend for those of you looking to laugh without thinking.
There's Something About Mary (1998)
A romantic comedy like no other
The Farrelly brothers have just turned the definition of a romantic comedy on its head. Only they could get away with the now over-used term "over the line" antics brought to this movie. It was a tasteless movie done tastefully. I thoroughly laughed and enjoyed it tremendously.
The Negotiator (1998)
SAMUEL JACKSON DESERVES AN OSCAR
Once again, Samuel Jackson proves he's probably the most talented actor in Hollywood not to have won an oscar. His performance in the Negotiator is nothing short of spectacular. The movie keeps you at the edge of your seat and Kevin Spacey is casted to perfection. A movie that has all the ingredients of a classic action/thriller.
