Wasn't expecting much but...
7 February 2003
I haven't laughed this much since "Something About Mary". Funny how the critics raved about that one , and gave this this the flick. Also, much better than the similar "Dumb and Dumber"...and not a fart gag in sight In it's naive, good-natured way , it was more like "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" or "Wayne's World" but out of all these films , "Roxbury" is my new favourite.

Much better than I expected...

You wouldn't watch it with your mother, but it's really quite funny. Joe Pesci's character is so utterly repugnant that you kind of watch him with a sense of awe and wonder if he's really as bad as he seems. See it and find out

A special mention to Dyan Cannon who has some of the choicest scenes and the best line of the whole movie.

Awful....Truly Awful

When you see quality actors' names such as James Coburn or Christopher Plummer attached to a movie , you would assume that those quality actors would appear in films that have a quality script. I mean , surely they READ the script before they agreed to appear in this rubbish?

Movies like this do nothing but damage a good actors' reputation so I guess it's a good thing that very few people have actually seen it.

I just wish I hadn't.

Heat Wave (1935)
A great insomniacs film
11 May 2000
This very silly musical comedy contains the immortal line "She is worth her weight in vegetables" . Set in a banana republic, the plot involves amonst other things, a card cheating president, an attempted coup, a conceited opera singer and vegetables. It has some good songs , a few corny lines but mostly it is pretty funny. A great movie to watch at 2 in the morning, and check out the generals' earring.

Don't miss it

This film is wonderful. Wacky, politically incorrect and more risque than you might expect from a movie from this era.

Tom Walls who plays Sir Duncan Craggs and also directed is a comic genius. Don't miss it.
