Una farfalla con le ali insanguinate (1971)
A bit disappointing...
I must say that after hearing nothing but good things about this film I was a little disappointed. While I wouldn't call this a bad film, I didn't think it was anything special. With all the great gialli out there I don't understand how this one gets so much praise. Maybe I'm missing something... Perhaps if I went into it with lower expectations I would have enjoyed it more.
I felt like it spends too much time on the police/investigation side of the spectrum for my tastes. I would agree with the other reviewers in that this is a more "serious" toned giallo than most. Overall though, I found the film to be pretty forgettable upon my first viewing.
***POSSIBLE SPOILER AHEAD*** The "whodunit" element is enjoyable, with all the twists and turns you come to expect from the genre. It also has a pretty sleazy bit where the attorney tries to have sex with the daughter of the woman he is having an affair with, who happens to be the wife of the accused killer he is defending in the first half of the film.

Don't Look Up (aka Ghost Actress)
I really enjoyed this debut by Ring director, Hideo Nakata. If you've seen Ring beforehand then you'll be familiar with the style and idea of this flick. It's got a subtle spookiness about it that works better than the constant (and predictable) stingers that infest most mainstream movies of this genre. If you like films that give you the chills, then you will probably like this one. A good, creepy debut by Hideo Nakata. 8/10
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998)
"I Still Know" could have been better.
Well....I gave this one a "5". By no means is this a bad movie but I had my expectations set too high. I personally love the horror genre and so I was hoping for more than I got. I would recommend to anyone that goes to see this movie with high expectations such as mine ... just go with an open mind and enjoy yourself. Maybe after a second sitting I'll enjoy it more than before. Jeniffer Love Hewitt was as beautiful as ever and the body count was, of course, higher and bloodier. As a horror movie sequel, it's good, but unless you're a fan, you are likely to find yourself bored.

Original Slasher Classic!
This is easily the best slasher movie hands down. It was this movie that got me hooked on the horror genre so deeply that I will be hooked the rest of my life. I was 8 or 9 (can't remember which) when my mother let me rent this movie. At the time I was just going on what I had heard a friend at school say about the movie but once I saw it I was just left in awe! If you watch this movie and try to judge it against movies with Tom Hanks and a $7million dollar budget, it will probably "suck" in your opinion. You have got to watch these types of movies with an open mind and just have fun. That is the best way to view movies as it will make you have a helluva lot more fun. This is the type of movie that will suprisingly entertain you and send chills up and down your spines. I feel sorry for the so-called "horror fans" that watch only the 90's horrror such as Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. They don't really understand what it is like to enjoy such a great film. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the Screamified movies, but I LOVE the older horror.
The actors in this movie (Kevin Bacon being the most memorable) give fun performances and they don't have massive egos (which makes them even better.) Tom Savini's make-up effects are absolutely brilliant. The gore keeps on coming. Sean S. Cunningham made this one stand out against the rest (all of which were not awful, but could have been better) and the classic sound "ch ch ch ch ha ha ha ha" will give you goosebumps.
If you absolutely love this movie, I recommend the sequels as well as other slasher movies such as Halloween and Nigthmare on Elm Street.
All in all...an excellent horror flick. I give it a STRONG 10!
