Desperate Housewives: Bang (2006)
Season 3, Episode 7

Excellent!
12 November 2006
This is easily one of the finest hours of television I have ever seen. And this is coming from a man who has given up on commercial television. (I watched this episode in rerun at the request of a friend who had seen it in its original time slot.)

The writing, the directing, the acting...ALL superb. The interplay of comedy and drama without either element being cheated. (This, I imagine, is not easy to do.)

Bravo, "Desperate Housewives"!

And shame on commercial television for not rising to this level of excellence more often!

Oh...MY...G-O-D!!!
6 May 2004
I'm a little confused! I thought a disaster movie had a disasterous theme, not that the movie itself was a disaster! Perhaps this is a new genre!

I groaned when the President said, "The ball's in your hands", to the man he put in charge after we'd been introduced to the two of them as they played basketball. The next time I groan while watching a TV movie/miniseries my next move will be to hit "Off" on the remote.

And, just for the record, did NBC think we wouldn't notice that the film was two hours and forty minutes long...in a four hour timeslot?!? Maybe the math eludes me but I believe that is one minute of commercial for every two minutes of movie!!! UNACCEPTABLE!

I think I've watched my last miniseries!

AN OVERLOOKED GEM!

A friend recommended this title. I'm so glad she did. I'm not sure I would have found it any other way. (I'd never heard of it. Had you?)

To quote "R" from the film, "My First Mister" is "just one of those small...but enormous things."

A Fan?
25 December 2002
Is Scorsese a fan of "West Side Story"? There are several nods to it in this film. Who would have guessed? Did anyone else catch this?

Looking for a good companion piece?

If you are, try 2001's "The Others" and remember, you saw Mr. Tuttle and automatic writing here first! This overlooked film is quite underrated. I've watched it many times and it never fails to impress! I believe Alejandro Amenabar, director of "The Others", must also be a fan of "The Changeling".

Trilogy (1969)
Superb!

I'm in full agreement with Marta. This is one of television's finest hours. Whenever I can I always introduce it to friends and not one has failed to be won over.

Not only is it a shame that it hasn't become a perennial television classic during the holidays...but I would LOVE to own a copy of it on VHS or DVD and to buy copies for my friends!

Who do we contact? {:-)

DON'T WAIT!!!

As a horror film fan in general, and a haunted house film fan in particular, I BEG you to see this film on the widescreen with the best available sound. Do NOT wait to rent (or buy) any home video version of this superb and moving horror film.

You've been warned!! :-)

Biggest Disappointment Ever!!
9 February 1999
The demise of this very fine series was, for me, the single biggest disappointment in my history of watching television (forty-plus years)! It had the potential to be an American television classic. My personal favorite episode, "Dueling Vodoo", was as fine an hour of television as anything I've seen.

I had high hopes for it when BET aired it briefly, but they too unceremoniously dumped it.

I believe, at the time it was on the air, it (and "Hooperman") was called a Dramedy. Some people may have found the combination of drama and comedy unsettling. I thought it was superb!

Someone, somewhere give this show a second chance! Quality must count for something!!
