Seven Minutes in Heaven (1986)
You can't go wrong
Searching for this movie in the depths of my brain left me ecstatic to find it here. This is a charming movie that had me daydreaming when I was in grammar school. Classic.
The Matrix (1999)
Edge of the seat ride...
Okay, heres the scoop. I am a "Sense and Sensibility" kind of gal. My boyfriend is a "Soldier" kind of guy. So when he took me to see this film I was skeptical. I left impressed. Warner Bros. has made it happen this time! I went to see it twice. It is slightly cerebral so for people who like to think while watching a movie, its fantastic. While at the same time it is full of awesome action sequences performed by the actors themselves! Keanu Reeves proves to be a true star, his agility and cool manner, make it an icy ride. It deserves to be a hit.
Shakespeare in Love (1998)
FANTASTIC!
The chemistry between Gwyneth Paltrow & Joseph Fiennes is enough to watch on its own. Fantastic, period film based on William Shakespeares' inspiration for Romeo & Juliet. Highly recommend it.
Return to Paradise (1998)
Unbelievable
I can't remember the last time a movie affected me this way. I rented this movie over a week ago and I am still seeing Joaquin Phoenix's portrayal in my head. He made this move incredible, his parts were limited, but he stole the show. I was disturbed, upset, depressed and angry after seeing this movie, because I felt such sympathy for his character. This is not a movie for the emotionally unstable, but for the others it is worth watching more than once.
Varsity Blues (1999)
Best of MTV yet!
I'd never expect this from MTV, they really outdid themeselves. James Van der Beek shines as the good guy, trying to stay that way and "Billy Bob" we will definitely see again. Mom's & Dad's its' rated R for a reason, I sat behind a Mother with her two young boys and it was obviously uncomfortable. This movie made me laugh and I left happy that I'd seen it.
