The American President (1995)
My name is Andrew Shepherd and I AM the president!
There's not a lot that bothers me, but when you quote a movie, you should at least have the decency to quote it correctly! Yes Dan, I'm talking about you.
THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT is my favorite movie of all time and it is disappointing to see that it doesn't get all that it deserves. It has everything a good movie must have, plus it's well directed and entertaining to all audiences. It has comedy ("It's a good thing he cleared that up because that crowd was about to buy some am-way products!"), romance, anger and politics all weaved together in a masterful script. for this movie to be misquoted or wronged in any way is disrespectful to the entire art community.
Dawson's Creek (1998)
Parents don't realize the reality this holds for teens
After seeing an article recently that had this show as the worst, as seen by parents, I could have cried. It made me realize the ever-widening gap between parents and their kids. The stuff on this show is real. Teens are constantly dealing with relationships and either sexuality and other infinite problems. The characters on "Dawson's" give us hope. We can identify with them and it is a terrific show. As for those who criticize the Jack-sexuality crisis, they need to develop a little tolerance and take some advice from Jen's grandmother. It's not our job to judge others. that is one of the many worthwhile themes explored by a high quality, thoroughly entertaining show.
Message in a Bottle (1999)
Awesome Chick Flick!
Okay, I have to say that this is a really good movie. I mean it had romance,
tears- everything! A guy, well most guys, would probly hate it due to lack of action but I loved it. The only thing that I can really complain about is the predictable ending but Kevin Costner's sexiness makes up for it!
The Object of My Affection (1998)
A perfect blend of comedy and romance
Living in a small rural town it was a treat to see a movie about such a subject as a person's sexuality. We don't get to experience a lot of that around here, so anyone can understand my feelings. The movie was very well acted and "fun". I think that if a lot of closed-minded people could watch it, they'd be able to let go of some of their prejudice to see that being heterosexual doesn't mean being "straight"
Armageddon (1998)
A mockery of the entire movie community!
Okay, I suppose I have to be fair to all movies because most do deserve merit, but I must say that ARMAGEDDON was one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. The acting was unconvincing and just plain awful, the plot was weak and the only thing that I found remotely interesting was the romance between usually great Affleck and Tyler. To see Ben in this role however, was a let-down.
