Trauma (1993)
Americanized Argento.
An interesting film with many of the traditional Argento themes, killing methods, gore and suspense. The one thing this film was lacking in, surprisingly, was style. I'm not saying there wasn't any style, it just seems he toned it down for the American production. It lacks the angles, colors, bizarre situations, and excessive gore of his earlier works. If you are a Dario fan, this is definitely worth watching but if you are not, it may be difficult for you to catch all the director's nuances and interesting touches that make this film enjoyable and sets it apart from the average slasher film. Overall, it is an average Argento film.

Amazing imagery...
Tarkovsky may not be the most accessible filmmaker to us westerners, but he does create some of the most striking images ever put on film. This film is no exception. Even if you don't understand the plot or, in my case, can't read the majority of the poorly done subtitles, you can still bask in the amazing imagery. After all, cinema is the art of moving pictures and this story is best told and appreciated by focusing on the images. This is a very enjoyable and memorable film.

Hit the fast forward button...
I hate to say this but this is probably the worst of the modern Jackie Chan films. I have seen just about every film he has done in the last twenty years and this takes the cake for the most laughable over-acting and bad plot. It is even worse than "The Canton Godfather"! There are, however, a couple of great fight scenes at the end so if you are a Jackie Chan fan, hit the fast forward button until you see him go in the high rise building. If you are looking for a good overall JC movie, rent Thunderbolt, Drunken Master 2, or Dragons Forever. Those all have incredible fights, stunts and not-too-laughable plots.
