Unbelievable!
This is one unbelievable movie! And, believe me, I certainly don't intend the word 'unbelievable' in the good sense. This movie has so many obvious flaws in it that it was difficult to watch with any kind of enjoyment. The acting was good, but that could not overcome the enormously stupid plot.
I thought this would be a movie worth watching because of the presence of Al Pacino, but that certainly was not the case. Don't waste your time on this dud.
Signs (2002)
Unbelievably Dull Movie
I have been a fan of Mel Gibson for a long time, but this movie does nothing for his reputation as an actor. Could not believe how dull, silly, and just plain stupid this movie turned out to be. The actors, including Mel, moved throughout the movie as though they were robots. I kept waiting for the excitement to begin, but it never happened.
Love.com (2002)
Proper Name Should Be Primal InStink
This has to be, by far, the absolute worst movie I have seen in the last 20 years. When I saw that Michael Madsen was in it I figured it couldn't be too bad a movie since he has been in some pretty decent films, and he was a pretty fair actor. WRONG! No one should waste their time on this film. I fast forwarded through 80 percent of it and I don't feel that I missed a thing.
Shallow Hal (2001)
Unbelievable....., literally!
I fully buy into the idea that you have to suspend believability, to a certain extent, whenever you see a movie, but this one is asking WAY too much in that area. There was no way I could ignore the obvious defects in this movie, regardless of how hard I tried.
Meet Joe Black (1998)
What a Waste of Time!
How in the world did they ever talk Anthony Hopkins into taking a role in this long, boring film! The length of the film and the robotic acting of Brad Pitt is enough to put anyone into lullaby land. And the concept of the film is so unrealistic that you keep wondering how can Tony Hopkins keep a straight face while acting as though what is happening to him is the most natural thing in the world. Don't waste your time on this turkey!
Heist (2001)
Unbelievable (literally!)
This movie has got some of the most far-fetched scenes you will ever see. One of the most unbelievable is,..get this,....a cargo plane sitting out on a runway with the doors wide open, a truck backed up to it while the thieves unload the loot, and police running all over the place! Does that look suspicious to anyone at the airport? Naw!
The acting was good, but it's awfully hard to suspend your belief long enough to really enjoy this movie.
Cast Away (2000)
Mostly Boring!!!!
To sum up this movie in as few words as possible I'd have to say, good acting (Hanks), same old boring desert island story, and about 20 minutes too long. Some scenes were dragged out much too long for whatever effect I have no idea. Too much talent (Hanks) wasted on a mediocre movie with a less than mediocre story-line.
Wonder Boys (2000)
Good Cast, Bad Movie
This is a movie with a very good cast, and very little else going for it. The actions of the characters so defies logic that it makes you wonder how in the world they ever got these fine actors to participate in such a silly film. I was tempted to stop watching before it was half way through, but persevered in the hopes that improvement was on it's way. I was wrong!
