Young Guns of Texas (1962)
If you like Elvis movies, you'll like "Young Guns of Texas."
"Young Guns of Texas" was very reminiscent of an Elvis movie - a simple plot where you will easily guess the ending, but will still be entertained. This is the type of movie to see after an especially stressful day - no underlying meanings or political messages, just an enjoyable movie. It has a nice mixture of humor, action and drama with just a dose of romance. ...and Jody McCrea is just darling as Jeff Shelby!
If you like Joel McCrea, Robert Mitchum, Alan Ladd or even Chill Wills, I'd definitely recommend this movie...you'll enjoy seeing their kids in action.
Roman Holiday (1953)
One of the best movies of all time! :)
The chemistry between Gregory Peck & Audrey Hepburn in this movie is wonderful; Eddie Albert is also the perfect addition with his camera antics. The facades "Joe" & "Anya" used to be "anonymous" for a holiday in Rome are hysterical. My favorite part of the movie is the "Wall of Truth" in Rome. I watched "A Conversation with Gregory Peck" last year and this is the story Mr. Peck relayed:
Legend has it that if you put your hand into mouth of the "Wall of Truth," it will be bitten off if you are a liar &, if you are telling the truth, your hand will come out unscathed. Mr. Peck & William Wyler concocted a little scheme without Audrey Hepburn's knowledge....
When you watch this movie, keep an eye on her reaction - it is real, and not the least bit put on. Ms. Hepburn had no idea what was going to happen in the scene. "Roman Holiday" is a definite must-see! :)
