Awesome
28 May 2003
Lucky for me my video store carry's random movies, so I did manage to find this one. It was totally awesome. It was magically, memorable, romantic, and unforgetable. There were even a few little funny parts that I thought were adorable. I recommend it to anyone, and it gets a 10/10 from me.

A Kids movie
26 February 2003
The first thing I have to say is that this is a kids movie. A kids movie, a kids movie a kids movie. It's made for children, and chances are, if you don't like it, it's probably because your not a kid. I babysat a 7 year old, and watched this movie, and I thought it was kinda cute for a kids movie, and she thought it was pretty silly. Now as an adult I thought parts of it where just dumb, but then again, I'm not a kid. The kids I've talked to seemed to like it, and even I liked some parts. I thought Dana Carvey did a good job with all those voices. Now before you see it, you must realize, it's a silly kids movie, and it has some toliet humor in it. If you don't like silly movies, or kids movies, or movies with toliet humor in it, don't watch it. But if not, then this movie is ok. I gave it a 7 out of 10.

Signs (2002)

Got my heart racing!
9 February 2003
Warning: Spoilers
"Signs" may not have all the greatest effects, but it had the suspense! I've been looking for a movie to scare me, and I finally got one. (ok, warning, SPOILER COMING!) At a few points in the movie, the aliens all with their hand reach out to grab someone, and that got to me. But what really did it for me was when you see the reflection of one in the tv! (Ok, end of SPOILER) And I believe that the music really added to the suspense. Every once and awhile it was so good, I could feel my heart racing. Also, I don't really like science fiction, but I liked this one. It's almost like the real world meets science fiction, and it was enough of a balance to keep me interested. It also has a really good message at the end. But I wont spoil that so you can find out for yourself what it is!

Not that bad
31 January 2003
Joe Millionaire is kind of like `The bachelor' with a catch. Evan, the bachelor is this case, is a regular Joe, who makes 19,000 a year, and who inherits 50 million dollars. But here's the catch, he hasn't actually inherited the money, and the female contestants believe that he has. And so the show is about these women trying to catch his affections, while each week he picks who he wants to stay. At the end, he will tell the one he picks the truth, and we will all find out if love or money prevails. I have watched a few episodes, and I have a confession to make. It's one of my guilty pleasures of life. Yeah yeah, it's reality TV, but for me and a lot of people out there enjoy watching it. It's not exactly quality television though; so if major quality is what you watch, then don't watch it. But if you want to see a new reality TV show for entertainment purposes, then I defiantly recommend this one.

I loved it!!!!!!!!
30 November 2002
I totally loved it!!!! Only four were there that I know of from the original cast, but it was still worth it. And this movie finally answers the question for many Christy fans, "Who will she marry?" Now the cast is different, but if you avoid the comparison between the two, it is an incredible movie. I also thought that Stewart Finlay-McLennan did a excellent job as Dr. Neil MacNeill. He played the role wonderfully in the original, and wonderfully here too. I totally recommend it, especially for any Christy fans out there.

Carrie (2002 TV Movie)
Not that great
12 November 2002
This version of Carrie was not totally horrible, but I wasen't totally impressed either. The worst part of the movie I thought was that it was very predictable. I understand that this movie is from a classic Steven King novel, but it was horror so I was hopeing to get atleast something out of it. Plus, most of the effects we're computerized. Like 90% of it, and you could tell. Living in an age of computers it was very dull. I also remember finishing the movie and going, thats it? I found the actress playing Carrie to be descent, as well as her teacher, but other then that, if you missed it when it came on tv, you didn't miss much.

Police Woman (1973)
Horrible
11 November 2002
I love watching some of Jackie Chans old movies. They usually have great action sequences, but not this one!!!! I had to force myself to actually finish it. It was so weird to see him as a bad guy, and he had this big hairy mole on his face. I mean, what's the deal with that? He was hardly even in it, and was not the main character. I also think his name is all over the box just because of his fame. Usually when watching his old films I usually can look past the fact that it's low budget, but this one I could not. It was really bad quality. The only thing I really found funny was seeing all of them run around in bell bottoms, and that chezzy 70's music in the background. So whatever you do, if you want to watch a good Jackie Chan movie DO NOT watch Rumble in Hong Kong.

I enjoyed it
9 November 2002
I enjoyed this movie, but that's because I'm a big fan of Jackie Chan, so if your not, it may not be a good idea to go and see it. Also, this movie is for those who like martial art movies no matter the quality or when it was made, and where. It was set in Hong Kong, made is the 80s obviously, but is also set in the 80s. So high quality can not be expected, and if you can look passed it it can be an enjoyable movie. This movie is about a guy who's a police officer (Jackies character) who takes care of his mentally ill brother. They set up the brother relationship in this movie pretty well, and Jackies acting goes a little bit passed what most people are used to. (I've seen many of his movies and it's the first time I've ever seen him cry) This movie is not funny like many of his movies out there, but its not to serious either. There two pretty good fight scenes, one right in the first 2 minutes of the movie, and one near the end. There are small brawls in between, but they are not really big. The movie is mostly story though, so the fighting is pretty much what I said it was. So if your looking for action packed Jackie Chan movie, this is probably not it. But if you are a fan, and want to try something maybe a little different then what you are used to, then this one may be a good one to see.

Awesome!
13 October 2002
"Shining Through" was an awesome movie. I saw it only recently, and I was totally impressed. Melanie Griffith was absolutely amazing. I have to say it, I've never been impressed with her, until now. She stars as Linda Voss, an American who goes over to Berlin Germany during WWII as a spy. She goes there, with little or no training in survial. She also goes over there with a motive to find some of her relatives who were in hiding. Linda is half-Jewish, making the experience even more emotional for her. Throughout the movie there are a few twist that happened, and they were not totally predictable like some movies out there. Also, Michael Douglas character Ed Leland and Linda Voss had a romance in the movie that was not typical movie romance, but a real love for each other, that also made it a wonderful movie. All in all, this movie was wonderful, and I highly recommend it!

City Guys (1997–2001)
Kinda Annoying
22 September 2002
The Show City Guys had it's momments, and sometimes was funny. I've watched many of the reruns, but I have to say, i found the fact that Ms. Nobel, the principle, only talking to the four main characters really annoying. Out of all the episodes I saw, she only ever talked to one girl who was not in the main four. I understand that the show revolved around the four, but they could have worked with that, like maybe she would turn from an extra, then talk to someone in the main cast. That never really happened though, making it completely unrealistic. It was like, her job revolved around helping four students for their four years. Realisticly the chances of ever even seeing the principle are not very good, and even if you get in trouble you would see the Dean or Vice Principle, not the main Principle. Also, the show didn't really have nothing new to offer it's audience. Atleast in this one the actors were only slightly older then actual High School Students, unlike shows like Popular who have 24 year olds playing 16 year olds.

Bibleman (1995– )
Good for little Kids
17 September 2002
I remember watching Bible Man and thinking "Wow this is really not good." The costumes were bad, it was really low budget, the diolgue was corny, but then I realized "Wow, these a CHILDRENS videos." Oh couse I didn't like them. So rather I decided to look at how children reacted, and some of them loved it! Especially little boys about 8 and yonger. Also, these movies convey messages to help kids with fear, anger, gossip, and more. They show how to overcome these things, and it puts it in a way they will understand. Also, they do have a Christian base to them, after all, it is called "Bible Man." Another thing, Christian video bringing a Christian message only makes sense, just like a Jewish video would bring a Jewish message, and a Muslim video would bring out a Muslim message. So, if kids like it, they should watch it, but its not as good or well made as the other Christian videos VegiTales so I would recommend that more then this. Its made for a larger audience, and many love it regards of age, beliefs, or gender.

This one totally blow
17 September 2002
I have seen all three crow movies, and this one totally blows. I felt like it didn't even belong in the series. First of all, any crow fan in used to seeing the main character with long hair, and this one being short provided a unnecessary distraction. Second, the bad guys were completely unmemorable and unoriginal. All I remember was that they were crooked cops, and I thought to myself "Oh how original." And when there were flash backs of Lauren and Alex I didn't think, "Wow, now that's love." Rather all I saw was two actors who seemed a little awkward with each other, and the only type of couple they resembled were to High School students. And not even that, because many high school sweethearts out there stay together, and I didn't get near that with them. Also, I remember thinking how in the first crow, and even in the second how dreamy the city looked. It was like; I was brought to a different place, but not in this one. And plus Kirsten Dunst was also distracting because it was so random seeing her in a crow movie. Another thing, the rape scene for me didn't really convey how violent the act of rape can be. In the first crow, the character Shelly got rapped and beaten, which is very common, and more realistic unfortunately. Plus, Lauren seemed like she might have been stronger then Shelly, but she didn't have a totally beating to add on to her horrible situation, so in reality

these two characters can not be really compared because Shelly didn't get the same chance as Lauren did to fight back. Also, when the paint was first on Alex's face, someone asked him why did he paint his face and he said "Somebody else did it for me." Again, this deviation from the first two crows was distracting. To sum it all up, this movie really blows. I gave it a 2. Watch it if you want to watch the trilogy, but don't be surprised if your disappointed.

Brilliant
26 January 2002
All I can say, is that this was the most brilliant adaptation of the book I have ever seen. It stayed with the story, and did not take out any part that Jane Austen fans may find important. Colin Firth was excellent as Mr. Darcy. I must say, I'm a total fan of his now. The people that played Lydia, Kitty, Mary, Mrs. Bennet, were wonderful. I must say, I even started becoming ashamed of their behavior, especially Lydia. The movie is long, after all, it was originally a mini-series, but it was worth it. I like it so much. I stayed up til 3 to try to finish the first tape. :)
