Groundhog Day (1993)
No idea how many times I have reseen this movie, but loved it every time.
Murry is sssssoooooooooo gooooood at deadpaning at the repeat of Groundhog Day. He covers shock, dis-belief, bewilderment and utter dismay all with the same rubber face and wide eyed soul. He only catches a break when he mends his selfish ways and allows love and compassion to enter his heart. How many folks must have made the trip to western PA to search for this magical town and relive his almost neverending day. At the last line of the movie when he say's to the effect, We'll rent at first, are we left with a hint that his transformation is not really 100 per cent and we may have the promise of a sequal. After more than 10 years we fans are still waiting but after all it only seems like one very long day, afterall.
I Married a Witch (1942)
Beautiful and Funny
A timeless beauty in a witches brew of a comedy, with the perfect father from Hell. Politics is on the short end of the broom stick as this film rises above the smoke and mirrors the enjoyment we all want from a funny movie. Enjoy with some devil's food cake and a warm hearted witches brew. John Patrick
Hear My Song (1991)
Never boils over, just a heart warming hug for your soul.
More than a bit of blarney brings a sham of a singer to do a good deed bringing a smile to any heart. Hear My Song as a tune, is sure to haunt most listeners for a long time, even if they can not remember anything past the first line. Great rainy day fare, perfect when served with Irish Breakfast Tea and just a drop or two of Irish Whiskey. John Patrick
A Feast at Midnight (1994)
PERFECT
As good as A Christmas Story without the BB gun and all that snow. As good as Chocolat without the tooth ache. As good as Hear My Song without the Blarney. This is a great family movie, touching, well acted and great cast. 2 plums on thumbs up.
