Time of the Apes (1985)
Like a visit to the dentist
This film is very boring and somewhat confusing. It centers around a woman, a kid, and an "Indiana Jones" type character named Johnny. They are cryogenically frozen and awaken in a land of where apes rule the world. (Sound familiar?) Well of course they are captured by the apes and Johnny (who acts like a complete jerk) tries to free them, etc... The movies only interesting character is a young monkey who helps the humans, and even the monkey is annoying. The only way this movie should be seen is along with the *Mystery Science Theater 3000* gang. The episode, number 306, appeared in their third season and was hilarious.
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999)
Funny, lewd, & unforgettable
I truly believe that this film is gut-bustingly funny, if you are an open-minded South Park fan. Otherwise perhaps you'd rather see a film that's not quite as upsetting to your fragile little mind. I'm surprised that this film even got a "R" rating. The amount of swearing is overwhelming...ly hilarious. I don't think people should see this film if they aren't prepared for nudity and cussing. (there is that scene of Sadam and his *fake* member, which happens to be a photo). lots of sexual refrences and cussing make this a NO for any kids. Please don't let your child see this movie until they are 17; it is really funny, but over the top.
M - Eine Stadt sucht einen Mörder (1931)
Spellbinding
This movie is very good and suspenseful. This is one of the best Peter Lorre movies. "In the Hall of the Mountain King" is the eerie melody to which the movie is set. This melody is whistled by the killer (Lorre) as he stalk little girls and murders them. The ending is equally chilling as we are reminded that this can happen anywhere.
