The story of two girls, that grow up to be best friends during the "Dirty War" in Argentina, and the obstacles they have to overcome as friends, mother, wife, lover and their different religion. This story concentrates on the suffering all mothers have gone through since the Dirty War, in the 70's, losing their children, not knowing where they are and creating an organization, called "Madres de Plaza de Mayo" (Mothers of the Mayo plaza in Argentina), demanding the return of their kids...or just an answer to their questions: Where are they? The movie is a perfect portrait of an endless friendship, with unconditional support of, as the title says; The Friend.

This movie, based on the life of the greatest tango character of the Argentina, Carlos Gardel, traces the doubt of whether or not Gardel is dead. A movie that makes you think that maybe it could be true, or it could all be a story.
