The Education of Max Bickford (2001)
This is a Keeper !!
Intelligent TV has returned to commercial television. Great topics with a fine grasp of cross generation relations. Maybe not a fair comparison, but M*A*S*H was rough around the edges when it started. "Max" has a great foundation to start on, it can only get better. Stick with it CBS I plan to keep watching. KM
Barnacle Bill (1957)
A.K.A. All at Sea
This has been a family favorite for years ! It also has waited that long to become part of our movie collection. DVD would be nice Mr. Turner (Hint, Hint) even if in a second movie collection ( FULL versions of Man in the White Suit, The Horses Mouth + All at Sea). Yes, although listed at IMDB as 'Barnacle Bill' it's actual release title is "All at Sea" this story of a sea sick sailor made hero tickles the funny bone and warms the heart. This delightful movie can be shown to all ages something we sorely miss with most of today's films.
The Sixth Sense (1999)
Rememberingly Haunting
It's been four days since I've seen this and still haven't figured out how I didn't see the ending coming and the "hints" WERE there. The casting was right on the money. Bruce was great and I'm sure we'll see lots more of his bright young co-star! This is story telling of Hitchcock callaber or better. A must see, must own a copy of movie!
The Lathe of Heaven (1980)
I do believe in reruns, I do believe in reruns.
Forget the reruns, I WANT A DVD. To those of us who remember this, it has a LASTING impression. I would PAY to see it all at once, if memory serves, it was broken up in parts on PBS. So get ride of the lawyers gang. If Lucas can bring back Star Wars You can bring this well written thinking persons movie.
Inspector Gadget (1999)
Family Time is Here Again
Not since Babe have I felt that I've been to a FAMILY movie. If you remember that this after all came form a cartoon you can really tell that everyone had fun making this movie. Matthew has his own style that is pleasant to see.
