Justice League (2001–2004)
Good, but Bats original and beyond are better
24 December 2004
Seen the "Batman" series by WB in the 90's. Skipped the "Superman" series I didn't like his design it looked like Bats with super powers and the endless "Lois & Clark the new adventures of superman" reruns in my head the WB Supe didn't impress me.

I initially skipped the show but slowly I watched bits and pieces, then a whole episode and other one and other one.

I liked the pairing of Batman and Superman (which mixed with other heroes is not so bad), I don't read the comics. Justice League has good stories. It has character development, something that seems rare in today's TV cartoons. Animation is 2D fluid not some CGI crap toons are becoming more and more. Good voice cast on both good(Batman/Marsian) and the bad(Joker!!!!) characters.

Cats & Dogs (2001)
7/10
It's funny, silly beyond words. Enjoy it!
24 December 2004
Warning: Spoilers
Cats and Dogs is one of those films that are to silly for words, if I had a dog with doghouse I would check for a secret button. Makes you wonder what are dogs barking at each other when they meet in the park or is that to much spotted dogs? Though the whole underground transport system to dog HQ went a bit far to believe. It reminded me of Bond. Hightech dog house, how did they think of it. Hilarious.

Saw it again on TV this week it wasn't as funny as the first time and probably would be even less funnier the third time. Favorite part: the house maid pampering Mr. Wiskers the I want to rule the world cat boss.

I've to agree that some of CGI effects where unrealistic and that's why I skipped on Garfield this year. Jurrasic Park Jeff Goldblum didn't have much of a role other then being inventor of the cure. I think that can be said of the whole Brody family though I enjoyed the scenes in the garden with the kid playing with the dog. The voice cast went pass me, didn't recognize one of the 'famous' actors.

See it, laugh and have a good time!

The Care Bears (1986–1988)
After 20 years it's still good
20 December 2004
Warning: Spoilers
Like most kids I watched every toon in the 80's. I enjoyed unique characters, the simple stories and fuzzy feeling of this series. It didn't appeal to me like the action series in the time. Unlike for example Transformers I've never seen a Care Bears rerun until last month.

One morning I stumbled on the series opening just having heard the theme song again recently I decided to watch for old time sake. The episode goes like this: It was the annual holiday or something cause a selected group of bears where to compete in a marathon. Some sort of villain, can't recall who exactly tried to sabotage the race and eventually the slowest, Lotsa Heart Elephant, won from the fasted Care Bear, Swift Heart Rabbit.

It still holds up today. Actually I had to check the credits to make sure it was the 80's series and not some 21th century remake.

Brother Bear (2003)
8/10
Breathtaking
19 February 2004
I haven't enjoyed a Disney so much in years. The art is breathtaking beautiful setting the mood in for the rest of the movie.

The Music

Ever since Phil did Tarzan I've been a fan of his music. With Brother Bear he again wrote, together with Mark Mancina a strong soundtrack with memorable songs like the upbeat "On My Way" or the sad "No Way Out" the latter is carried with some of the best animation Disney has done in recent years.

The Voices

I'm glad Disney choose for less celeb voices with only the Moses being celeberty leaving the rest open for lesserknown/unknown (voice)actors.

The Screen

Most of the film is animated to use the full length of the silver screen only supports the breathtaking art.

Not the DVD

Don't wait for the DVD you'll miss allot. No large 3 meter with DTS can make up for the theater experience.

The Finale

The only minor point is that it was predictable that Kenai killed Koda's mom and the end, the battle between Kenai and Denahi was over to quick.

Anyway to make it a rap, go and see this movie. It's one of Disney's last 2D movies you'll get to see from WD Pictures for a decade or so. After Home on the Rage you'll get sick of 3D movies soon enough and you grab your BB DVD for a trip down memory lane of the quality Disney used to put into their old fashioned films.

Justice League of America (1997 TV Movie)
2/10
I didn't give this movie a 1 because..
12 June 2003
.. there must be a movie out there that's even worse. Lame characters even lamer acting. Lots of voice actors even the great David Ogden "Cogsworth" Stiers himself couldn't turn this movie into something decent. I haven't seen any acting of the man but he is by far a wonderful voice actor. Then there's John Kassir who did Meeko in Pocahontas. Not much of a speaking role. Anyway back to Justice League... really bad costumes, like the 60's Batman series which was good for it's time. And weak SFX this movie isn't worth my time. Maybe just maybe with a different cast, a different director and a much bigger bag of money this could've become something. Maybe an idea for the crew behind Spiderman or X-men when they run out of sequel ideas.

Airplane! (1980)

Perhaps in 1980 but not in 2003
18 January 2003
I'm likely one of the few people that doesn't die of laughter watching this movie. I think it's hardly funny at all it's dumb even. Perhaps that in 1980 I would've liked it but I was 2 at the time so I think not. This will be the lowest rating I've given a movie at IMDB. 2/10

I give it a too because there must be a movie out there that deserves a 1.

A Christmas Carol (1997 Video)

A boring version
25 December 2002
Despite the famous cast this animated version of Dickens tale is the borest I've seen. Enough that I zapped away in he first commercial break. The characters didn't appeal to me at all and the animation is looking cheap.

I'll give this movie a very low rating. Give me the Disney version anytime.

Lovely but to short
22 December 2002
After seeing the impressing TV movie A Christmas Carol from Clive Donner with George C. Scott as Scrooge I wish Disney made their version into a full classic. With today's DTV releases there's a market for it. Because this version is so wonderful, Scrooge McDuck is Ebenezer Scrooge and Mickey makes a fine Bob Cratchit. The spirits are good chooses casting Willie the Giant as Ghost of Christmas Present, Ghost of Christmas Past (Jiminy Cricket) and Pete as Ghost of Christmas Future

With animation by people as Mark Henn, Glen Keane, Randy Cartwright. It's my opinion that this short deserves a remake into a full DTV sequel.

Not that good
21 October 2002
2001's Snowed in at the House of Mouse was better put together. It made more sense. To many short cartoons in the House of Villains, to little club scenes. Jafar says that he's taking over at the start of the film, good opening by the way. Then the shorts, couple more snipplets of the House but nothing gets the story moving. Then at the end Jafar and the villains take over, kick the Fav Five and Co out of the club only to be taken back after another cartoon or two.

The collections of shorts in a HoM shell have the potential to be good if Disney decides to cut down with the cartoons and put more story in the House itself. Next year... Valentines Day, 2004... Eastern. There enough potential themes for future movies.

My First Rodney Dangerfield movie
30 July 2002
This is the first (that I recall)Rodney Dangerfield movie. I just commented on Lady Bugs about not liking him so I skip that part. The overall movie is better then Ladybugs. There are some *big* names in this movie. Like a Burt "B.L" Reynolds plays Rodney boss. I'm not saying it was a good role but hey Burt has to pay the bills. More exicted are two Disney stars namely, David "Cogsworth" Ogden Stiers best known role is the clock from 1991's and soon on DVD Beauty and the Beast recently credited with the voice of Dr. Jumba in Lilo & Stich. David plays the Gov. Floyd Preston the guy Rodney has to dig some dirt on. Floyd can't seem to get along with his son also a semi-plot in Meet Wally Sparks. And there is Gilbert "Iago" Gottfried known as the loudmounted parrot from Aladdin. He sets down a much smaller role as Mr. Harry Karp. Camoes of Jerry Springer and Tim Allen are two of the many cameos in this movie.

This movie makes some good time killing but not worth to rent or buy on DVD/VHS unless of course you're a fan of the kind of humor Rodney Dangerfield throws around.

Ladybugs (1992)

It's an ok movie
30 July 2002
Most of the movie is ok for a hot summer evening with nothing better to do but I feel that the setup isn't scoring. Why does Matthew agree to be a girl and play as Martha instead of assisting Coach Chester. And why do they lie about it to Bess? The jokes are alright too with a few that are to much. The acting of Jonathan Brandis was good, best know from this role in Seaquest DSV. I have seen movies of Rodney Dangerfield before and ain't impressed, the eye balls gig is near scary. Vinessa Shaw does some nice acting but didn't get much screentime. The rest of the cast are one timers or unknown (to me) actors/Actresses with exceptions of Blake Clark (Coach Bull) who had a regular guest roll in Tim Tayor's Home Improvement. Another worth mentioning is Chuck McCann (the Bartender of the bar Chester is drinking) he had regular voice acting roles in famous Disney TV Animated Series as Ducktales and Tale Spin.

Anyway, when it's on tv and you've nothing better to do Ladybirds is a good way to kill time.

Aladdin (1994–1995)
Hey, it's Aladdin :)
9 July 2002
In my humble personal opinion Aladdin is Disney's best animated classic ever. So naturally I watched the series, and watched again, and watched again. Disney gives the main character more personally, the good sides but also the flaws and okay sometimes they miss and make a main character out of character. Al and Jas meet many new friends and about the same on enemies. Friends like the people of Odiferans, barbarians that aren't that smart and enjoy stinking cheese or Sadira a semi-friend, semi-villian street girl just like Aladdin does everything in her sand powers to make Aladdin fall in love with her. Take the mysterius Fashir, a blind old man that knows Aladdin's future. Some are smart and power like the mighty wizard Mozenrath or the catty sorceress Mirage others are not so smart and not nearly has powerful like the thief Abis Mal or the inventor Mechanicles (though he has brains.

If you liked Aladdin then you'll certainly enjoy watching Disney's Aladdin the series.

It isn't the G1 TF but I think it's okay
17 March 2002
Based on seeking a Divx version of the first episode "Battle Protocol" I can say the this about the new TF series. The new Optimus Prime and Megatron are okay. I like the new Fire Truck design of Prime, voice was okay too. I don't like the design of the Predacons. Didn't they belong in Beastwars? Character don't behave like they once did. Just big words but the point behind it seems to go by me. The weapons are cool though.

I dislike the animation style. To much Pokemon like, to simple. From what I understand it's standard Japenese style. I prefer the US style, the style Disney uses. Characters are actually moving. Some shots where more slide shows then animation.

Music and sound, I don't know didn't notice much or any music at all.

Story, it took Megatron 20 minutes to capture the scientist. There was to much fighting. Little happens to the story in one episode. This way it takes 5 to 8 episodes before the story ends.

Conclusion, if it would air here I wouldn't mind missing a few eps. Give me G1 or Beastwars.

I agree
16 March 2002
I agree with the previous imbd user. Don't see a reason why. I rather see a new series of live-action Mr. Bean. Here they are rerunning it old series till it isn't funny anymore. A movie would be nice too. Well, I guess I've to wait a couple of years until it's aired here.

Lucky Luke (1983–1984)
Faster then his shadow
16 March 2002
At the time, early 90's, Lucky Luke was a cool show. Lucky Luke with his trusted horse "Jolly Jumper" and the stupid dog "Rataplan". The Dalton brothers, bank-robbers, train-robbers in short the scum of the west that just won't learn to behave, or stay in jail. The director of the jail sends a messenger out to find Lucky. Who mostly is doing some resting when the messenger finally tired finds Luke. Well in short, Luke goes out to find them and tricks them in their own sceam. The local sheriff locks them up and when he wants to thank Lucky Luke for his help the "poor lonesome cowboy" rides against the sunset.

The animation is okay, done by a French company, music repeats itself and the characters are (I assume) like the comics. I think the writers wrote extra stories, made up characters for this show. if you can catch a rerun in a language you can understand, that's Dutch for me. Watch a view episodes.

Atomic Train (1999)

not enough good train movies, this is one of the few
27 February 2002
In my opinion there not enough good train movies out there. Ok so the movie doesn't fully do the details correct I found it exciting to see the train rampage mountains on and off.

This movie got my attention all the way. In fact I ordered it right after it ended. I'll give it an eight!

Dumbo (1941)

it's still a classic
30 January 2002
I just bought a DVD player today and Dumbo is the first disc I bought for it. I'm blown away by the quality of the picture and sound. I've seen the film on tv several times in the past years but it's sooo much better on DVD!

The movie is now almost 61 years old but it's still one of Disney's best classics in the line of Bambi and the 101 dalmations.

One of the better sing-a-long video's
14 October 2001
The title comes from the Aladdin song "Friend Like Me" and that's also the opening and closing song of the tape. There's of course the movies love song, the beautiful "A Whole New World" Further more the tape has "Something There" from Beauty and the Beast and a song from the Little Mermaid series "Harmony" but I would rather that they used "Dreaming" what I believe is also from The Little Mermaid series. it might not be directly related to friendship but it's a wonderful song.

A song they could have left out is "Friendship" with clips from. The video also contrains a very nice song from The Fox and the Hound and a song from "Song of the south" and Jungle Book

The sing-a-long song tapes are great for kids who want to learn the songs from their favorite movies. But if you can choose between the whole movie and a sing-a-long I say watch the whole movie. You see the scenes before and after the song and sets the mood for the music piece.

Why I gave this movie a 7
16 August 2001
I gave this movie a seven because I normally don't watch drama movies let alone one based on a Danielle Steel novel. Second because Jenny Garth gave away a surprising good performance, excellent! Third because of her voice.

The surpising supporting role by a Startrek acctress (which name I lost at the moment) helped some too.

Fletch Lives (1989)

Never saw the first movie
6 March 2001
This is one of those movies where you think if you seen one you saw them all. Their good to watch on T.V. when you don't want to do anything else but watch T.V. and laugh. I'm not going to lay out the plot again that has been done. If you're a fan of Disney movies you have too watch the Zipdie-do-da cameo with the animated bird and dog. There's another Disney reference later in when Fletch is in the office spying at the maquete of the new 'theme' park.

Batman Beyond (1999–2001)
Better then Batman of the past ;)
25 February 2001
I've been following Batman of the Future for a couple of months now with one ep a week. Most comments I have seen are given after they saw only the first 2 episodes. Animation: excellent much better then the old Batman series, Sound & Music: good, characters: okay (They don't go into Terry's girlfriend much I expect her to find out soon, a whole saga of new villains none as good as the famous joxer. The aged Bruce Wayne is probably the best) story lines: average (I've seen some exciting episodes but this weeks "Terry's friend dates a robot" is a weaker one.) Oh and Superman doesn't come even near the Batman series. Supe looks too much like Bruce Wayne.
