Blade Runner (1982)
Impressive
Like Hitchcock's Psycho, that film touchs your soul, like Spaniards say. Few characters, few violence, but full of life, cosa' are we really live? Are we really natural? Are we really doing the important things? Superb Harrison Ford, 9 over 10. Excellent movie, circa 9 over 10.
I remember when I was 12 or 14 to have seen director's cut; the unicorn...
Wind (1992)
Force of wind
In Spain this movie was titled "La fuerza del viento" (Force of wind), and I prefer. Impressive quote was the one between Parker and his skipper's daughter; he explains her how to win, how to find the oneself's wind in life. Later, he speaks about Geronimo, the red skin man that fought until the end in the defense of his own ideals. In the America's Cup Challenge aboard Geronimo, Parker will win beside his old girl friend, winning her again.
Atraco a las tres (1962)
A lost world
The black and white Spain, the old subway, the 50s-60s in Madrid is the world of "Atraco a las tres" (Rubbery at 3 o'clock). Galindo (Lopez-Vazquez) has a lot of rich life dreams. The old, tender bank director is going out, coming a new burocratic and repressive director Galindo and the other bank guys hate. Now is born the idea of rubbery... It's an open door, a door towards blonde and tall young women, Mercedes cars and Coast houses. The dreams of so time ago, Galindo's dreams... But the real world in black and white is stronger.
La cabina (1972)
Spanish passion for life
"La cabina" means a metaphora of human condition in this world, at all modern world. Director Garci (first Spaniard winning an Academy Oscar with "Volver a empezar") made this movie with the typical Spanish passion for life. Lopez Vazquez is a normal man in a dangerous world; his pain inside the phone box is an spectacle for people. No quote between characters, just eyes towards outside. The screenplay remarks the personalism (not individualism) of this culture, but against modern world that makes us anonymous, non-meaning. This short film hooks your heart and brain at all.
