Around the World in Eighty Days (1956)
Different End Credits
I've been puzzled for years when I have seen the re-releases and earlier video versions. I remember seeing a different and longer set of End Credits when the picture was released and on its 70mm (Todd-AO)road show. It featured shots of the various actors in there roles. A remember in particular that they did not show Frank Sinatra's face during the film, only revealing it in the end credits.
I only saw the fully animated version when the 35mm version went around. So which version of the end credits were original attached to the movie? Was it the version I saw the original or was Bass's animated version?
Still an important DVD release.
L'année dernière à Marienbad (1961)
BORING CARD GAME (was watch the card game to figure out the movie)
Interesting Card Game? At the time I first saw this move (1967 I think) I had never seen this puzzle and yet by about the fourth time they repeated it I knew how to win it. Later on when of the game companies even came out with a marble version of the game(NIM). I guess after figuring out the card game, I never understood the movie. I consider it the worst important movie I have ever seen.
Boring repetitions with minor variations of the action. People for who you feel know interest.
What ever made people think this a important movie is beyond me.
That Was the Week That Was (1963)
Apparently to far to the left for the right wing
A great ground breaking show (never got to see the UK version). It got pulled not be course of normal lost or ratings. But after it was preempted for too many weeks by a boring political rally for a party. They used a former hack actor who was rewarded for his work with future political support.
The Lost Battalion (2001)
Lost Battalion, The (1919)
For better idea of what was happening see the 1919 version done by many of the real people involved.
The new version is more on battle effects on less about the real action that occurred.
The Dinosaurs! (1992)
The best series on Dinosaurs
This 1992 series is clearly the best series on the discovery on Dinosaurs. It show how these discoveries lead to the a compelete rewriting of the history of the earth. It shows how the discoveries completely changed the way we think of world. A must for everyone.
