The Sinner (2017)
From good to bad
I loved the first season. One of the reasons it was good because it didn't have many of the bad, boring tropes all the krimis of late seem to have. In the first season, the story wasn't bogged down by the main characters troubled past. But that was ruined in season two. First season was also missing one of the most boring tropes of all: bad guy goes after a loved one of the main character. Which then happens in season three.
Season three is horrible. There were no characters to identify with. No one to have sympathy for. We're given the killer and his motivation in the first episode, and nothing significant about the killer or his motivation is revealed during the season. Harry is just making silly decisions, without much reason. In the final episode, I was rooting for Jamie. Detectives who just rush into dangerous situations, alone, without informing anyone else don't deserve to survive (and that trope should die).
Wallander (2008)
Full of standard tropes while not standing out.
Workaholic main character. Check.
Troubled private life. Check.
Loved one becomes a target. Check.
Doesn't tell rest of team/boss where he's heading to. Check.
Doesn't wait for backup. Check.
Continues on while suspended. Check.
Leaves hospital prematurely to go back to work. Check.
Etc, etc.
I don't see why people are raving about Wallander. You can easily replace it with the hundreds of other detective series out there.
Vantage Point (2008)
Disappointing.
The movie starts off well, showing the shooting of the president and the bombing of the square from the viewpoint of different people. Each time, a little more is revealed: the person shot wasn't the president, the Spanish undercover agent's girlfriend has a hidden agenda, people are being blackmailed, etc.
But the last part losses it all. The "happy end" is that the president survives (who cares about all the dead), and that's after a long, totally unrealistic, car chase, which actually contributes nothing to the plot. The president is saved because the ambulance he's being hijacked in crashes (of course, of walking distance to the place the car chase ends - but the car wasn't chasing the ambulance); the crash takes out the two drivers strapped in their seat belts, but the president in the back, not strapped in, has hardly a scratch.
Right.
A totally pointless movie, IMO.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
Not much of a story.
The book "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" doesn't have much of a story, but in the movie, even less can be found of it. The plot holes are big enough to run a truck through. Go see the movie if you like special effects - they are great. There are some funny scenes as well. But keep the money in your pocket if like to see a story, a plot or even some character development. I give it a 7, but that's purely based on the visuals.

Bait (2000)
Predictable and not funny.
This is the first time I ever saw a movie with Jamie Foxx, and I bet it will be my last. I failed to see why he was funny, although people in the audience thought it was very funny when he made a face to the camera, or for saying "I am going to take a shower".
The plot is completely predictable. The bad guy comes after the good guy. The good guy has a woman, so the bad guy uses her. In between, the officials screwing up. The final scenes are utterly unbelievable. You spend 2 years and millions of dollars chasing a guy, but you don't do your home work to solve a trivial riddle?
There's no great acting, there isn't much of a plot or storyline, and the shooting is done MTV style. Don't waste your money on this one.
