Haunting Ghost Story
10 March 2000
In the Realm of the Senses is a beautifully filmed, well-written, and splendidly acted film. It tells the haunting story of a woman who kills her husband after falling in love with another man. The ghost of her husband continues to haunt her lond after his murder. This film is really good, anyone interested should definitely check it out.

THIS IS REAL
3 February 2000
This is the definitive holocaust documentary. Unlike any other made, this film shows actual footage of the horrors of the holocaust, through use of shocking scenes from the concentration camps, and insightful dialogue. Instead of simply telling of the horrors of the holocaust, however, this film poses questions to the viewer such as how something this terrible could have ever happened. The thing that truly makes this film unique is that its scope is universal--relating the holocaust to the human race in general, making parallels between the hatred of the Nazis and the hatred among man that prevails to this day. Beautifully filmed, brilliantly written, and truly disturbing, this is a film which all persons living today should definitely see.

Stunning cinematography,
27 January 2000
After viewing this film, I had my mind made up that I hated it. The dialogue failed miserably. I know that the idea of improv is supposed to be more "real," but in this case it was simply disastrous. Weeks later, though, I can't stop thinking about this movie. The camera work was visually stunning. Even at its most overindulgent, the film's cinematagrophy was breathtaking. The ending of this movie is absolutely revolting, but I guess if it has the power to make such a bold impression on the viewer, it is successful in its attempt to display the strange effects of schizophrenia on Julien's deranged family. You may hate it or love it, but its definitely worth checking out regardless.

simplicity = bliss
27 January 2000
This film is not only well-acted and written, but it also one of the most visually impressive in years. The story is very simplistic in nature, and its detailed scenes of childhood discovery are captivating and enlightening. A great movie for movie goers of all ages and interests.

Outrageously Hilarious
27 January 2000
Sitcom is one of the most shockingly humourous films I have seen in a while. Nonstop laughs from start to finish--the only flaws are the misleading beginning and the strange finale but still tons of fun! I saw this film during a short one-week showing, but ended up ordering the video to show my friends! Definitely worth watching!

BRILLIANT
27 January 2000
Persona is absolutely perfect from start to finish. Poetic, haunting, and intriguing, this film is quite possibly Bergman's most amazing film. INGENIOUS! Bibi Andersson gives an amazing portrayal of nurse Alma, and although Liv Ullmann barely speaks, her performance is equally spectacular.
