Boring
16 August 2003
This is the type of sophomoric, fake, horror film we have seen a hundred times before. A group of stupid people get lost, and are attacked by crazed hillbilly cannibals. Oh, what a shock. I never saw that 'clever' plot twist coming. *yawn*. I'll be honest, I turned the film off in the middle because I simply could not stand watching this worthless drek anymore. Bad writing, worse acting, pitiful production values. Don't waste your time.

Great Flick
16 May 2000
As a published Science Fiction author, I went to this movie with some trepidation. I loved the book, but could anybody turn it into a decent flick? You bet! This was a terrific film and I enjoyed it tremendously. All of the characters had backgrounds, and the aliens were here for an actual purpose, rather than the childish Star Wars nonsense of 'we're just doing this because we're evil. Ha-ha, so there.' The Special Effects were first rate, and the scriptwriter did a bang-up job of converting Hubbard's huge (1,100 page) novel to the silver screen. With plenty of material in the novel left over for a sequel, or even two. Kudos to the cast and crew. Well done!

Outstanding

Quirky, brilliant, twisted, dark, inventive, unnerving. This is a wonderful film, extremely well acted and smoothly directed. Moody and atmospheric, death stalks this mixed assortment of oddball lovers, both inside and out. Yet it is not a bleak tale of destruction, but a story of redemption, survival, and finally love. A great job by everybody involved. Top marks!

Babes (1990–1991)
Terrific!

This short lived show was a breath of fresh air in the stale and pre-packaged atmosphere of TV-land. Not only did it feature (very) beautiful women with real figures, but it actually contained fresh plot ideas mixed with wonderful oddball humor. Wendie Jo is always a delight, and Rick Overton (a true genius) steals every scene he is in. Great stuff.

Standing Room Only: Sherlock Holmes (1981)

Superb!

Frank Langella plays a wonderful version of the supersleuth, making him both more aloff, and more human at the same time. It is easy to see why this play has been a hit since 1899. The dialogue sparkles, the jokes are really funny, the sets are ingenious, and the ending is - to say the very least - completely unexpected. Wow!

If you think Basil Rathbone, or Jeremy Brett make a good Holmes, then you ain't seen nothing yet. Frank blows them out of the water and claims the role for himself.

Excellent!

Fast, funny, exciting, and most wonderful of all these - original - this film is a total delight. With some really terrific plot twists and solid characters with lives beyond the events of the movie. Based upon Dave Stevens' award winning comic books, you can't get much better than this. A pure delight!
