The Girl in the Café (2005)
A truly terrible puerile and childish plot.
I thought that "Love Actually" was the worst insult to any form of intelligence. I was wrong. "The Girl in the Cafe" is - by far. What a corny script riding on the back of an admirable cause.
A little bit of "Lost in Translation" mixed in with Bill Nighy and his oh so predictable and boring repetitive unbelievable mannerisms, the G8 and African Debt. Puhleeeez.
And who can believe the plot for goodness sake?
Or is it a case of don't question a crap script because people are starving.
Ken Stott - terrific as alway. Kelly Macdonald - wonderful. Both wasted on a another diabolic Curtis ego trip.
I am so angry that such a good cause could be really wasted on such drivel.
Splutter......I can't continue...........
Love Actually (2003)
Facile, puerile and bordering on formulaic schlock
Great acting by Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson and Colin Firth cannot save this movie which is ghastly and boring.
It angers me that the Director could take the movie-going public for granted like this after some pretty good earlier work.
Lew Grade was right no-one ever did lose money underestimating the public. The recipe - Hugh (Oh gosh)Grant, a number of "f" words, a "character" or two, a bit of sex, a few embarassing moments and bingo we have a winner.
I want my money back.
The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2001)
Classically amateurish
Supposed to have been set in Wales.
No-one seems to have taken any care about accents (like saying BOY-O with a South African accent), scenery (no greenery), acting (God help the acting profession) or directing (absent).
It is as if the film was made to fulfill a contract and not to entertain.
They have a nerve charging admission for this film.
