The Bernie Mac Show (2001)
The worst show I have ever seen
This show is stupid, simply said. None of the jokes are funny, I laughed not once in the three times I watched, and then only because it was right before Titus. Bernie Mac constantly tries to act like a poor black man but fails miserably as he has a nice home and family. All the kids are whiny and annoying, especially the boy. Geez, when I was that old, I was nothing like that! I mean, he tries to fake sick EVERY DAY! While this joke may have been funny once or twice, the way he does it is so pathetic (lashing out with arms, running around the room, jumping intoi bed, talking in a hoarse voice "I'm too sick to go to school today, Unka Berna!") It just makes me sick.
We have four types of more 'light hearted'programs on FOX these days. High class comedy like "The Simpsons","King of the Hill", "Futurama" and "Malcolm", We have middle class stuff like "Titus," "Greg the Bunny," "Grounded for Life", simple crap like "Glutton Bowl" and "Celebrity Boxing," and excuses for using excess film and cheap labour costs, a la Bernie Mac. Why genius work like "Family Guy" was cancelled to make way for this kind of crap, I shall never know. Apparently, this show has been renewed for another season, and moved to sunday night. I'm Canadian, I guess that just mean that I know what I like. In America, you all seem to like whatever a network shows you (what other reason is there that 'Survivor' is still in production?) I guess I'm just better, in that one way.
Samurai Cowboy (1994)
A truely original buddy movie.
If you have never seen this film, you do not realize what you have missed. A buddy-movie remaniscent of Shanghai Noon, A powerful Japanise businessman moves to Montana to own a ranch and fulfill his dream of becoming a cowboy. Along the way, he gathers a group of cowboys including a rapper from a touring group, a bullied native-american and a cynical old cowboy. He also befriends a gorgeous veterniarian ho becomes a love interest. The five of them must work together to get a herd of cattle to market while an evil hotel owner sabotauges them at every turn so that he can aquire the ranch and flood the valley with a damm. This film seems to be underrated and not well known. I only saw it because it was on local TV the other night. Try your hardest to find this movie, view it and you will not be dissapointed!
