My Life (1993)
Underrated masterpeice.
13 July 2001
This is one of those movies that comes along sometimes and knocks you to the floor by absolute surprise. Sad to say, this is the most underrated film I have ever seen. This is the one film that can break you down into tears every time you watch it. It has a really touching theme as well. The theme is of course, make it count, and that is exactly what Bob, Michael Keaton, does. I think the most beautiful part of the film is when Bob notifies his wife at the amusement park that it was his due date for death and that he was living on borrowed time. Living on borrowed time from the prayer he made earlier in the film. This film is one of my all time favorites and is a must-see for strong, hard hitting tear jerkers.

Hate Michael by the end.
13 July 2001
By the end of this classic sequel to "The Godfather", I absolutely felt nothing but hatred for Michael Chorleone. Even though he waited until his mother faded off to kill Fredo, I still couldn't feel anything for Mike. But when you see the last shot of the film, you realize that he is going to regret it for as long as he lives and will fall into a deep depression for the next decade or so. How could he be so mad at Fredo for being tricked by those two rats, Hyman Roth and Johnny Ola. That wasn't exactly all Fredo's fault. But, you not only do you feel the neglect from Michael to Fredo, but you feel the neglect from Michael to his family and household. That was one of the really haunting parts of the film. Michael's neglect is what causes him to fall into the deep depression by the end of the film and into the third installment of the trilogy. Francis Ford Coppola has a true gift in film making and to this day remains one of the best directors in the business. The best of the trilogy.

10/10 The best film ever made. *****/*****

Absolutely Hilarious... A Delicious B-Movie
14 December 2000
Okay, I'll say it. This movie made me laugh so hard that it hurt. This statement may offend some of you who may think that this movie is nothing more than a waste of film. But the thing that most people don't get is that this movie was intended to be bad and cheezy. I mean, did people actually think that a movie about a killer snowman was intended to be a masterpiece? Just look at the "scary" hologram on the jacket of the movie and you'll find your answer. Instead, like the original Jack Frost (which I thought was just as funny), this movie turned out to be a side-splitting journey into the depths of corny dialogue, bad one liners and horrible special effects. And it's all made to deliver laughter to us viewers. It certainly worked for me.

For example: Anne Tiler (to her troubled husband): What makes you frown so heavily darling?

If that chunk of dialogue doesn't make you laugh, then you have serious issues. Who in their right mind would utter those words in real life? Of course, no one because it was meant to sound ridiculous! Just take one viewing of this movie with an open mind and low expectations, and hopefully you'll see what's so damn funny about Jack Frost 2.

Sure It's Been Done Before... But This Time, It's Perfect
13 November 2000
Words cannot express the heart and soul this movie carries. I have read many reviews complaining that this story has been done before. But the one thing that makes it different this time around is the fact that everything about it is perfect and overly delightful. Flashdance this is not! I have never laughed, cried, and cheered at the same time while watching a movie. One would have to have an icy and cynical demeanor not to love this film. And at the center of it all is a talented little Jamie Bell. He carries the film on his narrow shoulders as he literally dances his way to stardom. I hope he moves on to bigger things. Hopefully, he'll get an Oscar nomination for his brilliant portrayal of a kid who's just gotta dance. The rest of the cast is splendid as well, especially Julie Walters, who practically stole every scene she was in. Billy Elliot is a truly wonderful film. I'm seriously considering seeing it again and I recommend it to everyone who wants to cozy up to a great fairy tale with a beautiful ending. I give it five stars and beyond...

And the Oscar goes to...
15 April 2000
I have just seen this movie yesterday after a month of hot anticipation. Controversy is, after all, a thing I adore. I must tell you that I was absolutely mesmerized by this wonderful film. Everything about it was wonderfully done, right down to Christian Bale's cheezy smile and yuppy demeanor. I went in kind of expecting a blood bath and came out nearly in tears from laughing so hard. It was sheer enjoyment to watch all of the actors, especially Bale, run amok in the posh district of NYC in the midst of 80s excess. I would like to extend a special thanks to the casting people of this movie, Christian Bale is at last going to get the credit he so badly deserves. I thank my lucky stars that Leo what's- his-name didn't get this part. Bale touches emotional points that Dicaprio will never be able to touch. Bale is funny, scary and utterly sad as Patrick Bateman. His American accent is superbly done seeing that he is from Wales. The Academy might as well hand the best actor statuette over to him as soon as possible. And yes, his performance is that great. As for the script and directing, it is just as entertaining as watching Bale chop up a helpless co-worker with a shiny new ax as he listens to Huey Lewis and the News, which is very entertaining to be totally honest. The satire of the 80s is perfectly done and the scene where Patrick and his co-workers show off business cards is bound to be a classic film scene for years to come. There is one thing that I do ask of you. DO NOT pay attention to the trailers for this movie. It IS NOT a slasher film by any means what so ever. Granted there is plenty of gore and sex in the film, it is all purely satirical and it is all there to get laughs out of the audience. And one more thing, don't go into the theater expecting a big ending out of this film because you will be seriously disappointed. The ending, although very good, leaves a lot of questions unanswered. So you have to be a very open minded person to appreciate it. Overall, I give American Psycho five stars and beyond...
