Homefront (1991–1993)
Slice of post WWII life, served with grace, humor and heartwrenching honesty.
30 April 2000
One of the best ensemble cast to ever work together. The talent of the actors, writers and directors married well and produced a wonderful show. Shame on ABC for not appreciating and continuing this fine show, especially after the many pleas of Homecoming fans. The storyline was well woven and executed with style and finesse by all cast members. Focused on 3 different families and friends all intertwined in carrying on and rebuilding their lives after WWII. What a treat to discover it being showcased this weekend as a prequel to its being re-aired. Find it, watch it, and enjoy it.

I Married Joan (1952–1955)
A Rare Gem
27 April 2000
"I Married Joan "is wonderful, delightful and hysterically funny. Joan Davis was an exceptionally gifted comedian. Her use of timing, delivery, and physical comedy make her a master of her craft. It is very unfortunate that few people have seen this great performer in her classic T.V. series. Many of the episodes are masterpieces that rival "I Love Lucy". In fact, in my humble opinion, are better. Joan Davis' real life daughter Beverly Wills plays her sister on the series and the very talented Jim Backus portrays her husband, Judge Bradley Stevens. If you admire and appreciate great comedy, this series is a MUST view. I hope that it is aired again soon.

U-571 (2000)
Historically Inaccurate but Entertaining
23 April 2000
I'm not going to waste time explaining to you what the movie is about or how it's completeley inaccurate in regards to who and when the first enigma was captured. U-571 comes close to being the "Saving Private Ryan" of WWII submarine films. Loud and noisy, it gives you a sense of what submariners at that time must have gone through. I wasn't really trying to spot any inaccuracies in the film. I was caught up by the action and suspense and even though the ending was cliche and predictable, I enjoyed the ride.
