Bad Acting, Poor Plot, So many continuity errors = Bad Film
17 May 2003
This is a really bad film, how it did so well begs to be asked. The plot is really terrible and is not helped by the useless acting skills of Jason Statham, why will he not just use his natural London accent? He plays ex-British military, but still feels the need to add an awful American twang to his dialogue.

The plot is so stupid, even for a mindless action flick. Whereas films such as Jackie Chan's use tongue-in-cheek action, this film tries to be cool, but is laughable.

The music in the film really adds an element of pure cheese. The hip-hop beats played to car chases is really inappropriate. It works well with "The Fast and the Furious" because they have some cool vehicles, but not with a BMW being chased (really slowly) by a few Citroen police cars! The music during the "romantic" scenes is poor and makes you wonder if any of the budget was allocated to the music.

How this didn't go straight to video, we'll never know.

This film had me and my mates in stitches, it was just so bad we had to laugh.

DO NOT buy this, Rent it if you must see it, but don't say you weren't warned.

What a turkey. Totally let the series down.
22 February 2003
This was the worst James Bond of the lot and has really let the whole series down in my opinion. Maybe it's just me getting old, I'm 22 now and this film did not impress me like the others before it.

It was just too over the top, that plane sequence at the end was pathetic, CGI was just terrible, and I left the cinema for the first time in disbelief that it was a Bond movie.

There will definetely be a gap in my bond DVD collection as I will definetely not be buying this tripe.

Idle Hands (1999)

Waste of time for people over 13

Just don't bother with this. How on earth do films as weak as this get funded and given the go ahead?

The only good thing was the good looking girl, but the rest of the film was about as interesting as watching a kettle boil.

The actors will probably be very very embarrassed about taking part in this mess in years to come, and so they should.

Rush Hour 2 (2001)

A lot better than the first
4 February 2003
Rush Hour 2 was a lot better than the first in my opinion which is not often the case with many recent sequels. It was a nice twist that it was set in Hong Kong with Tucker being the one 'out of place' however I was dissapointed that the action was moved back to the U.S.A for the finale'. Overall, it is an excellent sequel if you take it for what it is - a Hollywood buddy/cop comedy, with some slap-stick martial arts elements thrown in. Those who complained about it, should really get a life, what else were you expecting?

8/10 in my opinion + the bonus of seeing Roselyn Sanchez

Excellent.

I had never heard of this movie before I saw it. Maybe something to do with the fact that Movies about American Football hardly ever reach UK cinemas. I bought an American DVD copy and think it's the most entertaining comedy I have seen in years. The usual story of the underdogs who must defeat the best team.(You can guess the rest.)The fast flowing humour as well as plenty of action makes this a must see for anyone. Not being biased in anyway, I think rising Welsh star Rhys Ifans puts in an excellent performance as Gruff and I loved the humour about the character he plays being Welsh. It's about time the U.S adknowledged the fact that the U.K makes up 4 countries and is not just England!!! The rest of the cast is excellent too, the performance of the movie has to go to John Favreau who totally steals the show as the crazy SWAT team leader who floors anyone that's in his way. Orlando Jones makes an impressive and very funny performance. Keanu Reeves and Gene Hackman are the credited as the main stars, however the supporting cast in my opinion provided all of the laughs.

You have to see this film, If I haven't convinced you yet, try this, I think American Football is the most boring, stupid, and idiotic game ever invented.(They only kick it occasionally, so why is it called Football?) BUT I still loved this movie.

Mystery Men (1999)
What a pile of.....
20 January 2001
I got the DVD off a friend, I must have watched at least 5 minutes before I decided that it could be the most useless film apart from Mission To Mars that I saw all year. If you want comedy try "The Replacements" ( I'm not saying that just because Rhys Ifans(Best Welsh Actor) is in it). Give it a go.
