A great leader
13 November 2002
This is one of the many good movies about the great romanian kings who change the history. The action depict the life of the romanian king, Vlad Tepes, known as the Impaler. He was the son of Vlad Dracul, named like this because he was member of the Dragon Order, and the grandson of Mircea the Older. Despite of his great ancestors, Vlad manage to get himself notice, even that his rulership wasn't so long. In one thought, Vlad said "Until now I ruled six years and they gone like only one day. I just wish I had two days, so that in the second day to build something useful for my people, something to be remembered. But still, I manage to build in the soul of my people, and that is a greater achievement." The movie also show the true origin of the mith of Dracula, the vampire. This is an example of how people are so easy to believe bad news, and so reluctant when listen to something good. On the overall, it worth seen the movie, not only for the action, but also for the tenacity shown by Draculea in defending his country against the Ottomans.

Liberty or Death
8 August 2001
The action takes place around year 1393, when the Ottoman Empire was seeking to conquer the whole know world. On their route to Rome, only one small, insignificant country (on their opinion) is trying to resist : Roumanian Principate of Valahia. This country have a great man: the King Mircea the Old. He has fought for decades all the invaders, including the ottomans, and has allways succeeded to keep his country independent. But now he is very old and the enemy is very strong. His greatest task is to pass the Proud Heritage of the Freedom to his sons, nephews and to all the romanians who live in his country. For this, he must win the ultimate battle which will decide the future of the country: Free Men or Slaves Forever !

This movie makes all the roumanians fell again the proud but above all, de great responsibility of their ancestors heritage: LIBERTY !

One of the best police/politic movie
10 August 2000
This movie is the best combination between a police and a political movie, with two good heroes, one a political activist and the other a policeman by education. Both of them want to stop the crime in the city, even that their methods are at the start completely different. As they came to know each other they unite and together form the most powerful team against the criminal gangs. It is a classic of Sergiu Nicolaescu.

A movie about the chance in life
8 August 2000
An excelent movie about the second chance in life and about the figth between to old rivals. It is important to observe the determination of the two men who want to settle once and for all their dispute, and to see if the success in life and sport of one of them was due only to the external factors or it was his real merit.

A battle for survival
8 August 2000
The Second World War was for almost all the soldiers involved, a constant struggle to survive, especially in the last part. This movie have war fighting scenes extremly accurate and real, without exaggerations like in most of the american or english movies, where one soldier kill an army of enemies by himself without been even hurt. The heroes of this movie are normal people in the middle of a war that it must be won or else. You must see this movie !

General overview and subject interpretation
8 August 2000
This movie have an excelent team of actors and a very good scenario based on realities of the years following WWI, in spite of the fact that it have a controversed subject, because of the nationalities depicted (romanian and hungarian). Anyhow I won't spoil the pleasure of seen this movie, but I tell to people who will watch that is a little bit violent, but that was the reality on that period of time. The genre is war/drama/adventure.

Can a small country win against the world powers ?
8 August 2000
This movie is a depiction of a real fact, the war between Romania and Russia against the Turkey Empire. Beside the realistic scenes of heroic atacks of romanian elite soldiers (named "dorobanti" or "caciulari", from their fur caps) against the fortified lines of the turkey army, one conclusion must be drawn from this movie: it is important to win a war but more important is to win the peace after that war. I recommended it for those who love history.

General view of the movie quality
7 August 2000
Ok, this is my first ever review. The movie in cause, the "Coroana de foc" have the best title that could be ever found because it is representing the great responsability that is on the shoulders of one nation's ruler. As all the other movies of Sergiu Nicolaescu, the costumes are excelent created, the action is very good directed and the fighting scenes are extremely realistic and dramatic. This movie must be seen.
