Johnny Dangerously (1984)
The Mob was never this funny.
Johnny Dangerously is the funniest Mobster to grace the silver screen. Michael Keaton and Joe Piscopo both of Saturday Night Live Fame are funny as Johnny Dangerously and Tommy Vermin. Joe's funny one liner has made movie history. Take for instance, "My mother shot me Once...Once ! The original movie print included a song called This is the life by "Weird Al" Yankovic. But currently do to licensing and legal red tape the song was deleted from the opening and closing credits of the video tape. But on TV the song is included. So should you see it on television tape it for it maybe the only chance you get to see Johnny Dangerously in it's original form. Untill then duck and cover because the bullets are flying everywhere. And tell your ma that washing laundry is a dirty job.
Convoy (1978)
Rubber Duck Lives !
This movie is the best of the Trucker Movie Genre that was pop in the late 1970s. Kris Kristofferson and Ernest Borgnine made their characters believable. You would either want to ride along in the convoy with Rubber Duck or chase him with Sherriff Lyle Wallace. Thanks to this movie and others like it the trucking industry changed big time. Truckers are no longer looked on as trash but now servants of the USA. Making sure the goods are delivered on time and safely. It would be nice though to see this movie digitally remastered and remixed on to DVD. If you want to see this happen write MGM/UA Home Video Customer Service.
Eddie and the Cruisers (1983)
Greatest Rock and Roll Fib of all time
Eddie and The Cruisers is the greatest Rock and Roll Fib of all time. You mix the legend of Arthur Rimbaud with the supposed faked deaths of Elvis Presley and Jim Morrison and the working man's rock and roll of "The Boss" Bruce Springsteen and you get Eddie and The Cruisers. I saw this movie on H B O just like some of my contemporaries in here have. This was a great movie that had the right elements. A Decent Story mixed with Rock and Roll and Mystery. The question of what happened to Eddie Wilson and the missing tapes of the second album is core of the movie. You get the answer to the second part of the question but the first part remains a mystery till Part 2.
Young Lady Chatterley (1977)
I love this movie !
Young Lady Chatterly is a hot 1970s Softcore Porno Classic. In the 1980s when it was released on Video Tape the movie was censored beyond belief. I think in this day and age of open sexuality I think this movie should re released on DVD in an Uncensored Uncut Directors Cut Version. The sequel was cheesy but the movie was still hot. I saw the movie on Cinemax but I believe there is more to the movie than we are lead to believe.
