Mission: Impossible II (2000)
VERY GOOD AND JOHN WOO DOES IT AGAIN, but...
I have 3 a couple of reasons on way this film prevented itself from being BRILLIANT! I. TOM CRUISE (Why was he given the lead role in the first place, he is no way and never will be an action star!) II. Those few moments that were really stupid and obvious on what was to happen next, such as the car chase on the side of the cliff, the mask change between Ethan and Hugh which resulted in Sean shooting his best friend many times! I knew straight away (before I saw the finger) that it wasn't Ethan Hunt, but Hugh Stamp! And of course, the moments when Ethan chucked the antidote for CHIMERA to Ving Rhames' character and managed to kick up the gun from the sand, go down and kill Sean Ambrose! Which is absolutely impossible, considering the amount of time he had and how close Sean Ambrose was behind him! Maybe that is why the movie was called MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE II III. THE MANY MASKS THAT WERE PULLED OUT OF NOWHERE! On the other hand, JOHN WOO DOES IT AGAIN! About **1/2 / ****
Blues Brothers 2000 (1998)
NOT AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL, BUT NOT A BAD SEQUEL!
BLUES BROTHERS 2000 was a little too fast and simple, but the music and the inclusion of John Goodman was really good. This is basically a spin-off of the original, which I don't mind at all... so my final score is a big 7/10
Mortal Kombat (1995)
GREAT ADAPTION FROM THE SUPER VIDEOGAME!
The film followed exactly how the videogame went (well, most of it) and I knew that it would get mixed reviews. Still, it is pretty good and clearly Robin Shou was really good as Liu Kang...it's hard to believe that he was 35 then and now 40...he looks an easy 10 years younger than that. Linden Ashby is hilarious as Johnny Cage and the cast was pretty interesting. Christopher Lambert- ONE WORD: BRILLIANT! Anyway, the movie was not bad and was straight forward! SO HERE'S MY SCORE! 7/10
My Cousin Vinny (1992)
JOE PESCI IS THE MAN!
My Automotives Teacher said that he wanted to watch this video because it had some important stuff about cars, RIGHT AT THE END! But what I didn't know was it had Joe Pesci, a legend of comedy! THIS WAS HILARIOUS, and if you love comedy or Joe Pesci, you will really love this movie! 8/10
The Blues Brothers (1980)
THE BEST MOVIE THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN!
The Blues Brothers is an absolute classic of a musical and strongly deserves to be in the Top 250 Somewhere! John Belushi puts in his greatest role ever as Jake Blues, the big (but short) brother of Elwood Blues who is sensationally played by Dan Aykroyd. After Jake (John) is released from Jail after a 3 year jail sentence, His Little (But Tall) brother Elwood (Dan) picks him up in a "POLICE CAR!" After being rejected by their female mentor from the orphanage they grew up in, they are inspired after a church service which their step-father (Cab Calloway) told them to go to. The Church service was conducted by James Brown, and the brothers set off on their MISSION FROM GOD to put the band back together, grab some bread and put it into the orphanage to redeem themselves. This would save the orphanage from being closed down, and getting the money was a very tough assignment. Their are hilarious moments, great duels with the cops that were chasing after them and wonderful music with a big list of guest stars, including Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, The Blues Brothers Band and many, many more! This is the greatest musical ever made, my favorite movie! 10/10
