Tribulation (2000)
Disappointing and disjointed attempt.
Even though TRIBULATION features former name stars and a credible budget it is a disappointment and not up to the standard for "end times" stories which is now being set by LEFT BEHIND- THE MOVIE. Gary Busey , Margot Kidder, and Shery Miller do an average job in a poorly written and disjointed story. The plot becomes amateurish after Busey has an automobile accident and wakes up after the Rapture. Especially annoying is the acting of the Devil (Nick Mancuso) and his henchmen who lack any special powers and are unable to track down Busey and his cohorts. Howie Mandel overacts his way throughout the picture. The video will be of interest to Christians but will not find an audience in the secular world. Too bad!
Left Behind (2000)
Great Christian entertainment that stays true to the book
Based on the first book of the LEFT BEHIND series, the video stays true to the book. It is a real treat for readers to see Rayford, Buck, Chloe and Pastor Bruce leap from the pages to the small screen.
The film's small budget may lead to criticism from many- especially those who have not read the series. Yet, for fans this video will please.
Acting by main characters Kirk Cameron (Buck Williams) and Rayford Steele( Brad Johnson) is adequate. Special effects at times are amateurish . Yet, because of the budget and interest in this long awaited effort it is being awarded the highest score possible.
For those that are not interested in movies with a heavy Christian emphasis remember that this is a video aimed at a religious audience . Be warned- the Bible theme is aimed at making the viewer consider mortality and fear being "Left Behind". Some who are non - believers may resist the message by writing negative reviews. Others, may convert.
