Roe v. Wade (2019)
Rewatchable, but nothing special
These reviewers are trashing the movie because it's based off of Bernard Nathanson's recounting of events surrounding Roe v Wade, after he changed his position on abortion.
There were some rough spots, don't get me wrong, but Voight, and Bernson put up some good acting, as did Stacey Dash. Loeb tried to be actor/director, but it's rarely a great performance when you make yourself the lead.
Editing was decent. There wasn't choppiness that I noticed. And sound did a good job balancing. (There have been cringeworthy Christian movies that have done awful).
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
Great movie!
This movie has it all comedy, drama, high points, low points, middle points. We see a new Peter that we have never seen before, even in comics. This along with Miles being a great kid who doesn't figure it out right away, and Gwen being awesome, the characterization of everyone is great. Aunt May is even different from what I expected. The soundtrack is good. The villains, specifically the big one, has a good motivation behind what they are doing. Overall fantastic movie, and it should have gotten Best Picture in the Oscars.
Bible's Buried Secrets (2011)
Lies, Lies and more lies
She starts with an assumption and then fits the story around her ideas. The first episode dealt a little more in facts and archaeology, still left out some important deatails but hey, at least it was not misrepresenting the Bible. The second episode, Stavrakopoulou states that the Bible covers up the fact that the Israelites worshipped many gods. THAT is simply not true. The books of Judges, Kings, and Chronicles ALL have repeated failure to worship the One true God. Then she goes on in the third episode and said the concept of original sin is not found in the Genesis. That it along with the serpent being the devil, she even has the audacity to say that there is no fall of mankind. Now how can you claim to be a scholar and not read that there is no fall of mankind and no inherent sin? She pops in some technically true things like it may not have been an apple, or the serpent not being the devil technically. She claims it was actually about sex. This is absolutely a sham of any remote objectivity. She blatantly ignores Christian and Jewish Theology about the identity of God. It is a misrepresentation of the highest order. She makes The DaVinci Code look factual.
