Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (2020)
The songs and dances ruined the movie.
I enjoyed the story but every time I got into the movie a dance scene came on.
Normally it doesn't bother me as I enjoy movies such a "Tangled" and "Frost" but in this movie it just felt like it was added to make the movie longer. In the previously mentioned movies the plot continued as the characters were singing which made it entertaining.
Listening to an entire song and watching the character dance was just boring and I ended up picking up my phone every time a song started.
However, during the end of the movie there was a bit more action during the musical numbers.
I'd definitely watch the movie again if they released another version with the songs entirely cut out or shorter.
Gisaengchung (2019)
No words.
I was really sceptical about "Parasite" in a way because of the hype, but I also had fate in the movie being good because
Bong Joon-ho have delivered knock out after knockout. (Okja, Snowpiercer)
Also I really like Song Kang Ho previous works.
Most notably "The Taxi Driver", which left me crying my eyes out on a 8h flight.
Do not recommend.
Anyways, Parasite is a masterpiece.
Every time I thought I'd figured the plot out there was a twist. Everyone also kept going on about the ending and I was like, meh.
Well, they were right about the ending.
Can't describe this movie. The plot is as indescribable as Fight Club, Get Out or Us.
Go watch it.
Angel Has Fallen (2019)
Fun but a few CGI malfunctions
So the movie was entertaining and it was an easy watch with a good combination of seriousness and comic relief.
However it could go from "bad ass action movie" to "made at home in front of a green screen" real quick.
I don't understand why some of the scenes were so bad, it didn't take away from the movie in a way I guess but it was just so noticeable.
I feel like a movie with this kind of budget should have better effects.
Aladdin (2019)
Nostalgic but fresh.
Movie was a blast from the past and made me feel like a kid again.
Was at first very sceptical because the trailer was so bad but after a few minutes into the movie I was immersed.
The core of the movie is the same but they have added new elements that made it feel fresh.
Juanita (2019)
Loved the movie, hated the ending.
The movie was amazing but sadly I cannot give it more than 6stars because of the ending.
I was super into the movie and it ended super abruptly never giving the viewer any answers for what happened both to the main characters but also the side storylines.
Left the movie feeling disappointed.
Captain Marvel (2019)
Trailer was underwhelming but movie impressive.
I was apprehensive to see this movie because the trailer made it look heavy, boring and cliche. However I was pleasantly surprised. Marvel nailed the casting in all parts. Storyline was well written and had a perfect amount of comic reliefs. What set it apart from many marvel movies was that there was no romantic storyline and it was more centered around role models and friendship.
