House of Cards (2013)
First two sessions were good, after not too much
Francis's character is being portrayed as the important figure from the beginning of the show. Because of his importance in the show, writers were unable to write a convincent story after Francis's death.
Claire's character is being portrayed as an important figure from the beginning of the show. But the writers couldn't do it. Claire is the most empty and predictable character in the show.
The chapter where president Claire had her all female cabinet was totally boring and nonsensical ( while there are capable females in the forces and politics, I do not believe in a full male or full female cabinet anymore)
After the fourth season, Kevin Spacey was the only reason many people watched it.
Sublet (2020)
A film to watch, but think a little bit about IVF .
The movie itself is good with some issues already mentioned by other users. However, the point I will touch is the IVF ( In vitro Fertilization) plus surrogacy which is a trend among LGBT couples. It is ok to think on having babies as long as the couple is young enough to have a 20+ years compromise giving love and nurture a new life ( the baby). But, when youngest of the relation is over 50y.o. ,like in the movie, raising a baby may not be the best idea as the body is starting to get tired easily, medications are on the rise, ilnesses are coming ( you get the idea) . It is quite selfish to think the couple will be there in their 70s for the children that is just in their late teen or early twenties. If they still want to love and nurture a child, Orphanages are full of kids in their 8-10 y.o. Capable of understand the couple is different but still a better option.
Nightflyers (2018)
Each episode is worst than the previous one
Each episode is worst than the previous one.
Almost every new scene something terrible happens to the crew, too many unnecessary deaths
Do not waste your time.
Another Life (2019)
Passable with one of the first non binary characters that you can not feel they are pushing the lgbtq+ agenda
Zayn is a non binary character that I liked so much, why?
Zayn was a doctor, not an activist or an artist as LGBTQ+ people are portrayed in many other series or movies ( KUDOS)
Zayn's story and the relationship with Bernie feels natural, not forced as many other characters elsewhere.
The Beyond (2017)
lack of medical research ( transplants)
I think the writers failed to understand the basic notions of human organ transplants.
The wheelchair guy's brain transplant was not successful because the brain was in shock as the new body was not recognized.
DUH! Transplant 101 states that both parties ( the donor organ and the receptor) must recognize each other to have the first step in the long process.
Un rubio (2019)
They way they act refect how latino men of all ages act
Men ( straight and gay) can be together watching a movie and not saying a word. It is how latino men are.
Hawaii (2013)
sweet movie, feels natural and realistic
If you are not a Latino you may feel that the way they act is not real. However, putting aside all the sexual tension, Latino men behave like that with their friends ( yes, even guys over 35 years old can be so 'childish' among friends while having a wonderful wife and children at home).
I have to mention that because for many viewers their interaction is like fantasy or unreal.... but not, it is real
bwoy (2016)
while is boring is teaching a lesson
The lesson is not to fall for online love where the other person lives far away.
You will may wasted your time and money
El Chapo (2017)
Forget the third season / Olvida la tercera temporada
First and second seasons were good
Third season is just a waste of time
Captain Marvel (2019)
Give them a woman but instead she is something else
Sadly the character has so many masculine traits that I was wondering if Captain Marvel character is a transfemale . I was expecting a strong female character like Wonder Woman, a character that never loses her femininity even when she can lift big guys and threw them far away.
The actress was just commanded to do what the script indicates so this comment is not against her.
Pigumim (2017)
Lack of sense in many ways
The movie shows a somewhat 17 y.o. extremely aggressive male student and the relationship between him and his classmates, a teacher, and his parents.
-The male students look like if they were in there mid twenties while the female students look like between 16 and 19 y.o. Also there is no explanation while the males are so aggressive, smokers and even pissing ( urinating) in the yard.
-The literature teacher is kind with his students but it is not clear why he decides to kill himself.
-The protagonist's father is so old that even looks like the grandpa. He wants his son to continue the scaffolding business but there is no sense to be so reluctant to allow the son to complete the 12 grade ( High School Diploma ) when the son is just weeks away from the final tests.
In short words the movie has several plot holes
Daddy (2015)
Scriptwriter did not make research in genetics
In the story Colin ( daddy) and Tee are biological father and son.
However, the son does not share any physical characteristics from the father.
There is nothing in Tee that resembles Colin ( and vice versa).
Altered Carbon (2018)
I hope third season the main Takeshi Kovacs to be another actor
Why I am saying this ? based on the idea of people moving their consciousness into different bodies then there is no justification to have the black takeshi Kovacs or another white one.
Control Z (2020)
Mexican high school ? They look like university students!!!
I think one or two students look like senior high school students while the rest look like ( mannerism, clothing , speech style) more like second or third year university students.
Additionally in a high school people are , with some exceptions, people from the surroundings ... but there are many with distinctive accents as if were not Mexican at all.
