Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (1973)
Their remaking it,
First of all, I can't believe I found people who know about this movie,. Next to the Changeling, no movie ever scared me as bad as this. Second, their remaking this for a theatrical release in 2003, which probably means most video stores will soon start carrying the original. At least I hope thats what it means..
Brian's Song (1971)
Go Ahead-- Try and not Cry
This movie is quite simply unforgettable. This is like "Beaches" for guys. That is to say that it's one of the only films I have ever come across that men have no problem admitting that they cried to. I'm talking about every guy I have ever talked to about this movie. That's not to say it's a guy flick-women will love it too. It just seems to have a strange effect on men.
The film tells the true story of two football players, Gale Sathers and Brian Picola and the struggles they must face as the first Black and White roomates in professional sports.
That alone would be interesting enough, as the first half of the movie proves, but there's more to this story than that. I don't want to give anything away so I will wrap up by saying that both James Caan and Billy de Williams are exceptional in this film and I would highly recomend it to anyone.
