This is the movie are about the labor class and problems they faced.

Group of labor working in a factory in Italy was facing the problem of working 14 hours a day.

They have no medical reimbursement or medical claims or no insurance for fatal accidental nor getting the perks of normal working class.

It started when one of the workers got his arm struck in machine and had the fatality.

Labors were fed up with the routine accidents and continuous work for 14 hours.

The fatality is due to tiredness and fatigue caused by 14 hours' work.

The coup was organized by one of the members running the alarm of closing call at a earlier time for labor to exit early from work.

He was subsequently faced the consequence from the management.

Finally, a professor(Marcello Mastroianni) arrived to instigate a wide fight by staging a strike and what happens next during and after the strike is the story of the movie..

You are sure to cry in the end .

The Story is purely based on the causes for creation of labor law where labor was forced to work for14 hours and reason for the unions to form.

You can understand the reason for the philosophy like communism or Marxism.. Probably current generations including me do not know the importance getting a daily 3 times meal and a proper place to sleep and have cloths to change daily.

These kind of movie shows how the above basic necessities were not available to the commoner.

In one of the dialogues, farmer told that factory worker is much more gifted than them implying the farmers were much more in pathetic conditions( As always in every country like india).

Director Mario Monicelli is known for his both comedy and also the tragedy shown in small details.

In a very small scene with a small detail he will show the greatest agony.

For example, Elder brother who works in factory beats is younger brother to study well in order to avoid this criticalness and poverty and to live better life. Professor looking at the food always showing his hunger even though he has the opportunity to live a better life with his wife. An Ethiopian always watching people eating food and thinking for his own poverty stricken family and so on.

Watch La grande Guerra 1959(Mario Monicelli )to know such above nuances and in every small part of scene they have showed the agony.

Marcello Mastroianni has his own way of producing a classical acting and his presence is always noticeable through out the movie.

Agonies of the labors.

Saw this movie just now.

3 of the British Pilot of Combat Plane landed in the German occupied French Country.

Accidently, each of the English soldiers met with the French men whom are more than willing to help these Englishmen to escape the German occupied area and return to England.

These 3 or several French person whom trying to help the English soldier met the fate of getting caught with the German army and escape several times and finally get extradited from their own country.

This is like cat and mouse game where these people are several times caught by German Army and Somehow they managed to escape (Some of them too dramatic).

German soldiers were depicted as Mild but Strict army people. No atrocities of German Army has been shown or the movie never tends to depict them as violent people. Instead it was shown like that of arresting these guys.

Louis de Funès and Bourvil depicted as Maestro and Painter were extremely funny.

The last sequence of action wherein they escape from German Army Camp was hilarious. It was like watching climax of where eagles dare but with funny and adventurous moments.

The scenes like bomb getting blasted making general to appear clumsy, paint falling over the army Soldiers, Soldiers escaping in barrels, Soldiers behaving like postman, Nun helping the English soldiers, Drama theatre artist helping soldiers were funny but the same time hard to believe.

Extreme comedy was German Major sleeping with Louis de Funès and his lieutenant sleeping with Bourvil and consequently performing comedy moments.

Overall it is a comedy over a war agenda movie. Some of the moments are comedy but too hard to believe. For example the spy plane just watching the fugitives but not shooting them down.

German Army never interrogates any soldier.

It is a good movie and shows how French and British collaborated during world war.

Probably the movie was taken to show their goodwill with each other during the war times.

A Woman (María Félix) lives a liberal and happy go life.

She has several lovers. Some of them truly care for her, some obsessive about her and some just want to hang out.

She chooses one over other until she met the love of her life.

The rest of the story is about the love and obstacle she faced and reality that plays.

How she finally solves the difficulties in the end is the essence of the film.

I love the way María Félix acted in the film and expressions are in every way delightful to view.

She was beautiful to watch and romantic encounters with the young doctor was nice.

Almost all the character in the film is having handsome appearance. For example the doctor and his lover and their friends.

Good Movie but need to sit and watch.

This movie is pure poetry. I am not sure what is essence behind this movie was, but in the end it is reading a beautiful poem.

Is it the acting, or is it the situation, or is it the screenplay or is it simply the background score or is it because of Laura Antonelli.

It will take more than 2 eyes to watch Laura Antonelli. You can just simply watch her all movie without being tired.

I have met several coarse and vulgar scenes, but that does not make the movie a lesser work and it made to never feel it is gross. On the contradictory it is pure poetic experience.

Luigi De Angelis( Marcello Mastroianni) is a vineyard owner and a wine seller. This is just a front façade for him but behind he is Anarchist and Antagonist for the ruling political situations.

He goes to sell wine but it is just a pretext but his passion is only for socialist world where everything has to liberal. Sex, women, spirituality and so on. He just privately shows his liberalness for freedom in the view that system is oppressive.

He goes to most of the brothels but writes subjects and publishes under different name.

He goes to Hunting but writes always.

He goes to hotels selling wine but in turn support families of the vendor whom supported liberal ideas and died due to the same.

Antonia De Angelis(Laura Antonelli) on the other hand is naïve, spiritually strict and obedient whom never crosses the social rules.

She never understands her husband and in turn never had intimacy with him.

In return Luigi De Angelis never understood her ability to become like him.(A thoughtful person)

On the suspicion of the Murder, Luigi De Angelis makes out a hide in front of his own house and Antonia De Angelis is left on her own to take up her husband profession.

What follows is the rest of the story.

How Antonia De Angelis understood her husband's ideology and his integrity but still accept his adultery.

And how Luigi De Angelis understood Antonia De Angelis potential to become a mature personality.

In front they fight each other as if they don't like but offline they always care about each other.

Gastone Moschin is makes a gentle performance for supporter of Luigi De Angelis and was remarkable role.

Pure Poem.

A painting or a painter is judged when its work is completed. This movie example of the above statement.

Initial 45 minutes, I did not have a cue of what the movie is about.

An Investment Giant (Bruscatelli) Gives a false promissory note or a bond or bill or whatever is called to 2 shysters or a lawyer struggling for survival of basic things in life.

2 Lawyers gave this bond to Landlord or Shop owner as token fund repayment for the tenant money for 6 months.

Shop owner gave this bond to Animal Caretaker (tosacani) for money for his dog care.

Animal Caretaker (tosacani) gave this bond to a High Class Tramp who lives on high end money.

High Class Tramp gave this money to a Dress Shop Sales Person.

Dress shop sales person gave this bond to wrestling fighter.

Finally the Wresting fighter gives back bond to Dress shop sales person, then to Tramp, then to Animal Caretaker(tosacani), then to Landlord and finally to those 2 Lawyers whom were arrested for being a False Witness.

The movie shows the exploitation of human needs and survival of people in all aspects of life.

It shows the 2 lawyers getting the Honey, Jam, Butter, and Wine for the work they have done as the client do not have money. Animal Carer gives all his money except his 50 lire for women to travel and you can see more.

This clearly depicts the needs to be done in order to survive.

This is an excellent movie I watch after long time. Don't know how many people appreciate it.

Particularly the fight between the Dress Sales Man and Wresting ling Man was hilarious and consequently the fight between Dress Sales Man and his wife for having adultery and laundering the money.

Probably, after 1 hour I could not stop laughing that is once after the Wrestler gives back the bond to Sales Man telling it is not fundable.

Vittorio Gassman as Animal Caretaker(tosacani) - He is always funny wherever he is. Hilarious to see when to tries to seduce the decent women by pretending as Russian Count.

The very first dance between Vittorio Gasman and Sylva Koscina should be inspiration for sword fish movie dance.(John Travolta) Ugo Tognazzi performed extremely well as Sales Man and also the wrestling comedy was too hilarious and fight with his wife was too funny.

Toto and Peppino De Filippo was hilarious in final scene of appearing as false witness in the court.

The scene of both appearing as false witness for both the parties was extremely joy to watch.

The way they gave witness to both parties will their acting skills and finally they will gave bond to jailer for food.

Sylva Koscina was delightful to watch all the time and displayed acting skills as tramp eluding all man for her needs. The way she manipulates man shows her talent as a actor.

Totally good movie if you can sit and watch.

I have watched this movie for political satire comedy nature.(Or probably for. Vittorio Gassman).

On the contrary, this is excellent drama about vice and honesty.

Dont know whom was the excellent actor.(Ugo Tognazzi or Vittorio Gassman). Both of them did a excellent performance.

Ugo Tognazzi is a honest judge and concerned only about the welfare of the society and eradicating any miscreants harming the society. Vittorio Gassman is a Opportunistic Capitalist and use any methods to achieve his success. The movie is about the Judge charging the capitalist and investigating him for crime or possible crime for conviction.

Did not expect the climax and was from beginning suspecting the role of Vittorio Gassman as he was portrayed as exploiter and a capitalist.

Conversation between the judge(Uno Togazzi) and industrialist( vittoro gassman) were interesting and gives continuation to the film. Whenever these 2 appear opposite to each other, it was pure pleasure to watch.

Dont how 2 great actors work together with out conflict. (Some of the places vittoro gassman seems to beg the judge and some place he shows his anger and some they were fighting.)

Nice drama if you could spend time and watch.

Just ignore the other things, this is a simple comedy.

If you happen to see the other Italian contemporary comedy movies, you will not feel little different or out of line.

Toto is a celebrated Actor in Italian Cinema and people are revered him as a luminary.

It is a conversational comedy with twisted dialogues delivering different meanings in the context and stupidity shown as part of reactions to exhibit comedy and mandating us to ignore some details like logic, concept and story to enjoy the show for 1.30 hour.

I usually like Italian comedies and seen movies which made me laugh and pass recommendation to others. If you want to see better comedies watch Big Deal on Madonna Street(1958 ). Casanova 70(1965), Brancaleone at the Crusades(1970) and these are 1 in million.

Will Like the movie if you are ready to ignore the finer details as entertainment lover .

Probably this might not be a best thriller or mystery movie, but it is letting you to sit through without bore.

It is a kind of good mystery but not that of a mystery movie lover would expect but still you can watch without tiredness.

The main reason for my review is the dance performance by the list of striptease dancers. Each and every dance is extremely good. It is properly choreogrhaped and properly orchestrated. The list of models or actors were extremely good in showcasing their dance moves and was performing extreme contortions. Their acrobatic moves,the way they kept the bodies fit and their confidence is a admiration point.

Probably, these might be very common in some the countries. But really enjoyed the way the dance was performed.

I am not talking about eroticness as there are erotic movies which are directed well and serve the purpose of its production. This is no way a erotic film and i do not infer or tag this movie as erotic one. This is purely a striptease dance moves which are properly numbered and performed with care.

People are praising demi moore for her performance in Strip tease but this dance performance in this movie was not considered to be good.

Nice to see movie if you would like sensational dance moves.

I watched this movie considering that this might be erotic movie.

It is an erotic movie. But i felt in the end it was such a tragedy.

An innocent village girl whom went to city just for seeing it, was raped by a rude man, which makes her a nympomaniac.

Her life was ruined after she became nympomaniac. She leads a wild life for sex and enjoyment. She loves everyone and at last everyone seems abonden her. Continous rejection in loves makes her becoming more addicted to hippie life. The life become so fast she forgets there is normal things. Even at the end people want to help her and love her, she could not regain to normal life but felt lonely at the end. Finally she meet the same guy whom ruined her and she tried to have her revenge.

Probably one of the scenes which made me really feel bad was the one of hers initial lover alberto coming to her before the end and proposing his love to her and she says it was too late and she says she cannot be normal again.

Probably all the beautiful pagents available at the time were shown in the movie and there were eroticness and but in the end i felt only blanknees.

Not sure if it review is too sentimental.

Erotic but sadness.

As a movie, this is good entertainer.

We could understand the details like British colonised egypt. Revolt against coloniser by local egyptians, coup, rebelling by local government against invaders in the egypt during 1950's, their principle on woman chastity and the honor to defend the same. On the whole as a movie, it is good to watch.

Only sad thing is the historical wastage of scott adkins martial arts skills.

Even below 4 rating movies of scott adkins have showcased better martial art sequence. After seeing in movies like Ninja( Shadows of Tears), Undisputed, Uninversal soldier, there is not even a good choreography for scott adkins in terms of martial arts.

He was criminally wasted in this movie. Even Asians have respect for him in terms of his ability. Not sure how he selects to cast in this movie.

I am not blaming this movie. I feel movie is good including the lead characters like HERO.

But very sad to see scott adkins go wasted like this.

Writing this review after watching movie just now. It was a slow,bizarre, unexpected and confused thrill feeling in the end.

Up to 1 hour 30 minutes, i was wondering what is the movie about. Last 30 minutes was making sense or a story or screenplay.

It was a kind of slow paced mystery,supernatural and finally let u guess movie.

I felt good but not a mystery or thriller or supernatural genre.

It is food for movie critics and movie lovers( I am not Either)

Good one but not for Mystery/Thriller entertainment lovers.

This is a decent watchable film. It does not contains extreme gory content or immense mystery but sequence of events of murder due to trance.

You can watch with out getting tired but does not have usual element of eroticism, gore or excellent cutting dialogues.

If you set the expectation of JACK THE RIPPER and watch the movie it will be a set back. It is only a simple story-line with decent acting and screenplay.

Climax of the film was extremely good.

Watch this movie only for Anna Maria Rizzoli.

But i found a great actor Paolo Villaggio from Italian Cinema of 1980.

Both the story line and comedy done by Paolo Villaggio was extremely hilarious.

For sake of Money, A husband invite his illicit lover with the consent of his wife for extra money, Then wife invites her illicit lover for another extra money.

Then lover of wife leads to arrival of his actual wife and she invites her Paramour.

Then lover of Husband leads to arrival of lover actual husband.

Finally the manager of husband resolves this money issue.

Even with the subtitle in english the movie was extremely funny.

Thanking of which how the Italian Audience would have enjoyed this comedy.

Each character was addling aa toppup in a ice cream flavour and each were unique characterisation.

Good Movie.

Saw this movie for Annamaria Rizzoli.

She is one of the divas of 1970-80 in Italy. I have seen her in Play Motel which she displayed extraordinary gracefulness on eroticism and fashion.

Italians are so good at sensuousness apart from Russians/Spaniards/French (It is my opinion).

Film is a normal comedy of usual italian style which we can sit and enjoy.

(If we forget all concepts,logic and content)

It was surprise to know this 1974 movie was available.

With No advent of Internet at the time(1992) National Television(Dhoordharshan) was only form of way to know 1992 version of movie.

We sat entire night to watch Academy Awards ceremony and get to know this movie 'scent of a women' starring Al Pacino. Al Pacino was honored with Academy Award for Best Actor. It was not even in theater in my city.

Now, accidentally happen to watch 1974 movie. I was searching movies for Dino Risi and Vittorio Gassman. Watched How sex can be fun and based on the same, was searching movies by Dino Risi. Also, watched several movies of Vittorio Gassman which are mostly comedy/tragedy.

But this one have deeply affected my balance.

Dialogues like ' I am not existent and 11 of spades' was making a impact on me. Those sequence were truly unexpected.

Disability in any form is a curse.

Nice movie.

I am writing this review on 2021 May 3rd.

I can only say Giancarlo Giannini is one of the extraordinary actors of Italian Film Industry of late 70s.

There are other bad review comments about him but for serious actor like him to do this kind comedy, it takes some serious acting skills.

Watch Sensous sicilian for his remarkable performance in the last scene and in Seven Beauties

I should also say that i could not take my eyes away from Laura Antonelli(1941-2015) for whenever she appears in the screen.

Totally i loved this film and enamored in Laura Antonelli. May her soul rest in piece.

Hats off to Dino Risi,Giancarlo Giannini and Laura Antonelli.

Probably one of the beautiful movies i have watched in recent times.

I have seen several films of Fred Astaire and he is one of the best dancers lived in 20th Century. Although i have seen much better choreography of Fred Astaire, this movie does not have best of his numbers and the same holds for Ginger Rogers too.(Ballroom dance only. Please watch Holiday Inn 1942 - last scene Or Gay Marriage for one his best numbers)

But this is really a beautiful movie and sequence of scenes related to romance development between Vernon and Irene was the best.

Finally the death of Vernon at Fort Worth, Texas really made to feel bad at the end of movie. Felt bad for the real life couples Vernon and Irene.

Vernon was trying to avoid accident with other flightier and met death which he would have simply avoided by letting the other to face damage.

Thought they will provide some insights into the academy set by the duo but none.

Neverthless it is beautiful movie.

Probably one another gem of Korean movies.

Is this Drama or a Thriller or a Psychological Horror? All but not one.

To be precise, i watched this movie incrementally by pausing for 30 minutes everyday.

It was slowly till 1 hour 20 minutes but beyond 1 hour 20 minutes, it was absolutely stunning.

Most particular scene was when the lead actress get aborted in bath tub.

It was a violent scene to see the blood oozing from her abdomen in the bathtub and the shot was taken for top of roof. I was stultified to see the scene and will not forget for some time. Lead actress expressed mixed emotion.

The climax was total astounding and i could not move at the end.

Acting was excellent both by the lead actress (Jeon Do-yeon) and the senior maid (Youn Yuh-jung) (Beyond extremities).

People noticed parasite but not this movie.( Rich exploits poor)

Need to watch till end for exhilaration kind of movie.

First of all, this is one of the best thrillers i have seen this year. I should say i did not move till the movie is completed.Probably the director Young-Joo Byun is one of the excellent mystery teller like agatha christie or Daphne du Maurier or Christianna Brand(Of course they are all writers). I was totally thrilled to watch this movie and came to know on information theft about credit card, house loan,insurance ...etc and identity masquerade.

Young-Joo Byun is feminist champion and took several documentary on women empowerment or suppression.

Not sure on directors view of her female lead character and her life style. It is not sure whether she approve of her lifestyle due to poverty and implying it is justifiable or condemning it.

By all means, this is a excellent movie. Being a mystery genre fan, i loved this entire movie all along. It is also sad the number of voters are less.

Found another gem.

I was not even born when this film was released. I just happen to watch this film in searching for an Italian war drama. It went with usually starting as that of all general Italian movies like that of women and their beauties and crime sequences. But at one point that is at the time when he was convincing the German Officer for his love and to start his maneuver of seducing her and ultimately loosing all attempts and also honor and chances of survival, it was extraordinary to view the scenes. Finally the death of friend which all the time he tried to save and loosing everything he values for simple truth of living a life, i would say it is one of the beautiful scenes i have seen. From pride to just of survival by loosing all that precious including honor. Giancarlo Giannini is just a beautiful actor and i have seen in another beautiful movie The Sensuous Sicilian Paolo il caldo (1973). Hope to find more such gems.
