Before Dawn (2013)
Wow so bad
I love zombie movies. Like seriously give me some boxed wine and chips (real chips not fries like in good ole England) and I can watch zombie movies all day long.
Not this one tho.
I've often wondered why some actors remain on soap operas for years. This is perfect example of why some actors don't go on to do much else except maybe a cameo on Casualty. I do have to hand it to Dominic Brunt for trying to release a worthwhile movie. They all certainly tried their damnedest. But for the love of God, someone should've pulled the Emmerdale players aside and said, "hey this isn't the movie you want to release!"
Nonetheless an hour and thirty five minutes I can't get back. Terrible cinematography. Terrible storyline. Even the acting was mediocre. I was really expecting more from Dominic but it was just Paddy without glasses. The actor does this incessant stuttering with his crinkled up nose and perplexed eyes bit on Emmerdale and here it was in full force. Ugh. Just spit out the dialog for the love of all that is holy!
If you honestly have nothing else to do and you've stumbled upon this movie and you've accidently rolled over onto the remote and pressed play...
Well stick with it, you might get a giggle out of the lunacy. Or you might just fall back to sleep.
Marriage (2022)
Not great at all
At the end of the series I looked back and wondered what on earth did I just watch? Nikola Walker and Sean Bean were great. Honestly I pretty much love everything she acts in... except this. It wasn't all about the ridiculous opening theme or the moments of awkward silence. It wasn't even about the lack of character development or the moments when you were wishing for a breakthrough--the breakthrough that never came--the story was absolutely ridiculous. I don't want to spoil anything but seriously, one character tears up another characters car because he's jealous, lonely, feeling worthless?? I still have no idea. And in a country with CCTV everywhere, no one can figure out who it was!? Then in the kitchen when Jessica was sitting talking about Adam, I had hoped for something more. Something!! But no. Clumsily written, even clumsier direction. Smh. Don't bother. You can find better drama probably sitting about the dining table with your own family. Heck maybe they won't be as cold and lifeless as the characters in this wasteful series.
Deus (2022)
I almost died of boredom
I gave this three stars because of the little twist near the end which made a less than stellar movie a tad bit more interesting. Other than that it's mindless drivel with the typical Judeo-Christian centered BS intertwined into a story with a ton of holes and inconsistencies. Like if they were able to control what Karla could see then why couldn't they control her near the end of the movie to stop her plan? And why build this enormous ship with multiple levels and sections that 6 people would maintain? 6 people! Smh. And of course earth is the center of everything, the crown jewel of the universe--but we really don't know that, do we? And plus the earth isn't going to die, we are. We are killing our own species but the earth, once through with us, will reinvent itself and support new life. The premise was fun but just poorly executed. What a waste of some good British talent.
Marketing the Messiah (2020)
Potentially true
I have studied Jesus for most of my adult life. I have believed in, I have prayed to and I have put my faith in Jesus. Then came along the pandemic and I looked at the world more closely. I looked at how some Christians are still fighting the good fight against science and I began to read and study other opinions. I started with Constantine's Sword and then branched out from there. As of today, I don't believe Jesus ever existed. This show exposes the contraindications and the untruths that have been perpetrated throughout history. However it only takes the stance that Jesus never existed as a fringe idea. Clearly stating that maybe 20-30 years from now religious scholarship may agree that Jesus was just a wonderful idea but not truth and not based in history. Would that really be bad? If Jesus was just an idea, a mythology that could help humans to be better humans then maybe it's not that bad. However we have used Jesus as a force to oppress and pillage and destroy because... Well... Maybe we just missed the whole point.
Last Man Down (2021)
Big muscle boy review
If you like watching big muscle boys flexing and pretending to act, then you'll love this movie. Same tired recipe: a. Picture perfect man, husband and father, b. Loses his wife to murder, c. Then he loses his mind. This movie was written by a 10th grader but hey at least you get to see Daniel Stisen's naked behind.

Laughable trash
If you watch this movie, just watch it for the sex. Everything else about this movie is absolutely horrible. I'm not even going to get into details of why this was such a horrible film adaptation of what was probably just some trashy romance novel. It's a shame that we continue support the notion that the only way a woman will be happy is by being with a bad boy. Nevertheless, the actors were good to look at and the scenery was beautiful. That's about it. Laughable trash
