Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)
Horror is not supposed to be a joke!
When will someone take it seriously! Its always unbelievable situations, with unbelievable outcomes! You lost me well before the bus, but that sealed the deal! Get the f outta here! Seriously? This is the best we can do? All of you can eat a dic!
Godless (2017)
Not bad at all for a limited series.
There is a sort of sense of American old west that is different than usual. Some it is absolutely false, and misguided. Where as other parts are truthful, and historical. For example there always seems to be some sort of unwritten code, that if you run into a fight bigger then you, then you just walk away. Bull!!! You get shot, and die. On the other hand, There is a general portrait of the old west, that rings true! Save one thing! Spoiler Alert....
The settlement filled with Buffalo Soldiers gets wiped out in seconds! Bull! These men were tactical, unrelenting, and warriors! They even got a warning that trouble was coming! The studio, producers, directors.... Killed them all in 15 seconds! Without a second thought! After they said. That one man! One Buffalo soilder fended of X amount (70 i think) of men singlehanded, with a rifle, and low ammo! Gtfoh! No way this posse gets the drop on em.
Invasion (2021)
Please read!!!
I found this series by accident, just browsing. Thought ok cool! Sci-fi, 5.7 rating, im in. Let me read some reviews...
The reviews tell a different story then the 5.7 rating this show received! Usually i would not even bother watching, but i had to see for myself if this was as bad as people claimed...
The very first frame!!! I gave up!!! Allow me to elaborate. The opening was text that read as follows. "ARABIAN DESERT, YEMEN, EARTH."
Are you beeping kidding me!?! Was it necessary to exlain that the Yemen is in the Arabian desert? Perhaps. However it strikes me as ignorant, and redundant to explain that this location is on EARTH!!! Can i get a firing squad please! This is what the writers start with!?! Im appalled. Smh dumbasses.
The Sinner (2017)
A hidden gem.
On the surface it may appear as a plain crime drama. However it is so much more! It delves deep into the mind, and withdraws the questions. Intrusively existential. You can't help but be compelled. I don't necessarily believe Pullman as an experienced detective, with his doubting behaviors, but I do think he brings home the broken man. I would put this in my must watch. You just might have an awakening.
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
This is a fanboy flick!
Completely unrealistic. Fat cheeks Ben squeezed into that costume. So many flaws in this game, its sick. So mich hype, and it fails.predictably...yes bad acting yes... its all CGI anyways.
Ghoul (2018)
Just a flat out NOPE!
I was interested by the preview. It appeared well put together. The quality of cinematography is there. Everything seemed to be in place. It lost me about five minutes in. The cuts were awful, the believe ability just wasn't there. The situation given, just isn't how it would be. Not even in a fictional world. Watch the first five, and tell me things wouldn't have been different.
Absentia (2011)
CAUTION!!! READ THIS BEFORE ANY USER REVIEWS!
I'm kinda mad now! Not at the movie, but these self-proclaimed, pompous, arrogant movie critics! Yeah, the Jane, and Joe schmuck's that dont know the difference between a review, and a synopsis! WORSE YET THE ONES THAT BLEND THE TWO! I came here to get a little info about this flick, and was greeted with spoilers, plot drops, and just overall fools, telling all! Stfu! You can't parrot words you have heard other PROFESSIONAL critics say like "This film made me appreciate what independent, low budget filmmakers can do..." Then follow with some bullshiz nonsense tell all like (specially with that giant blue monster with lobster claws did at the end! That saved that pregnant girl that just saved that boy from the aliens, that just tried to invade that archeological site, just before that family evaded that tsunami.") That does not make you a critic, or reviewer, or anything but an asshoze! Then leave a website, and ask for people to check it out. How about grab a book, and educate yourself. Start with definitions.
Desolate (2018)
Meh. Rather lack luster.
This movie gets 5 stars from me, and just barely. I can see some giving it a 6 but anything over that is either someone selling their product or people that are easily impressed. This is a modern day western set in forgotten town USA. There is nothing futuristic about it. More a look into the bleak world of man when left to his own devices. The movies story is unoriginal with typical characters behaving in typical fashion. The pace is set early, and never really gains any steam making it feel monotonous. The movie does do a good job at making you wonder how thing came to be the way they are, and has a real sense of believability in that it could happen without to much stretch of the imagination. That's really the only thing the movie has going for it. I didn't find it unsettling, brutal, exciting, or compelling in any way. It's average nothing more, and nothing less. Watch it if you like, but please don't be persuaded by these reviews giving it 9s, and 10! I promise you it's a 5!
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)
Don't believe the hype!
There is no way this movie is 8 stars as it ranked currently! The movies story was lacking, and just smh bad. A lot of the stunts were slow, repetitive, and sloppy. Unbelievable and grandiose? Yea they got that in droves. What made the first two chapter so great was how clean, precise, and refined all the action was! Huge fail in chapter three. For example some of the hip tosses, and throws are just not possible to execute as seen with a gun in your hand! But that's not the worst of it. John Wick is a man! Not Superman! They just went to far, and took the realism that was beloved by all, and flushed it down the toilet. There has been much talk about the class system/hierarchy and how the assassins judicial system works. Well it doesn't make much more sense in this chapter either! The punishments don't fit the crime, and visa versa. The only reason this movie has a leg to stand on is because of a Hollywood budget! Strip away that veneer, and you're left with a mediocre B movie.
Wilderness (2006)
Nope.
Gave up on this movie near the beginning. What starts off as a grim look at these juveniles life behind bars quickly loses its footing. They are supposedly being sent to an island as punishment due to the death of an inmate. Laughing, playing, and carrying on as if on vacation while under the watchful eye of their single man chaperone. Sorry but that's too much garbage for me to swallow. Didn't waste another minute. Don't care how good it may end up.
Hostile (2017)
Don't waste your time.
What another sad case of money wasted on a flop! The acting is mediocre at best. The script is weak, and the direction even weaker.
The backstory is a waste of time, and the energy could have been put to better use. Such as developing a more substantial main storyline. So many errors that fill this movie with holes. I guess this movie works if you're a child. Skip this one.
Deadwood (2019)
Brilliant!
A long awaited finale that needs no introduction. Fans of the show and newcomers alike will not be disappointed. Never a dull moment in the town of Deadwood. Brilliant performances all around. You feel as though you are a member of this society. Excellent work HBO.
The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017)
HOT GARBAGE!!!
I am so very disappointed that I wasted my time. Pure nonsense from start to finish. I have absolutely nothing good to say about this movie. If this movie were alive, I would give it a beating for robbing me of my time. I will avoid future titles by this director.
Chained (2012)
Exceeded my expectations.
Those few that are giving bad reviews of this film are fools! Although I do agree that there are moments where this movie seems slow, it doesn't hinder the film. There is a less is more attitude that's really impressive. Achieves a chilling, and thought provoking experience without all the bells and whistles of high budget films. Gives you a real taste of what it is to know, and live in fear. An insight of being full of rage yet being powerless. Don't listen to the bad reviews. This is a solid flick well worth the watch. Very glad I stumbled upon this. Well done.
I'll Take Your Dead (2018)
Almost hit the mark.
This movie for me was a case of mistaken identity. While classified as a horror movie, it would have been better off as a crime/drama. It has that nice gritty element that we all know and love. Initially it starts off with a real horror vibe, but quickly focuses more towards the criminal underbelly. That's where the focus should have remained. The film could have had that raw intensity of "Training Day" or "Taken", but the film losses it's moment when trying to remain a horror movie. Sadly a case of shoulda, coulda, woulda. A some what compelling storyline, although relatively predictable. Followed by a fumbled climax that seems to be grasping at straws. Coulda easily been a much better movie. I thought the cinematography was good, as well as the actors. Shoulda left the horror element out, and woulda been much better off.
The Seasoning House (2012)
Raw and gritty with a few gems of gore.
First let me say I am a huge fan of horror flicks. The more blood and gore the better. I look for the realistic aspects to these areas of film. That said there are a few nuggets in this movie that make it worth the watch. Not the best but also not the worst. There are more than a handful of situations where you will find yourself shaking your head and thinking "This is not how it would happen in real life!" This is where the movie fails. As if those making the movie just got lazy and said "Ok this is what we are going to do..." resulting in cliche moments with a very unrealistic feel. So much potential gone to waste. Overall an average horror flick, speckled with some decent gore. Has a nice raw and gritty feel, worth watching once if you don't expect to much.
