Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver (2024)
DESERVES TO BE A TRILOGY
Rebel moon 2: The Scargiver is an action/sci-fi bloody well done. This movie is a lesson on how to do an entertaining action/sci-fi feature.
Haters may hate but this movie certainly deserves to be a trilogy.
It's amazing how everyone involved has put in their ultimate best and it shows, especially the lead actress Sophia Boutella. I've seen her in a couple of action roles in the past but nothing as intense or as incredible as this. She's solidify her place as an action star to be reckoned with.
Now for the movie itself, although the story is a bit thin, but everything else from the acting to breathtaking visuals and the heart pumping action at the climax (which by the way is one whole hour) is a pleasure to behold.
I sincerely implore Mr. Zack Snyder and Netflix to ignore the haters and please give us the third part of this sci-fi action fest.
Argylle (2024)
A Z-GRADE SPY SPOOF
I was quite excited when I first saw the trailer for Argylle, and boy, was I equally disappointed with the movie. Everything from the silly one-liners to the poorly constructed action sequences fell flat. I must say Matthew Vaughan seem to be losing his touch with this one. Whatever happened to the guy who brought us the kingsman movies? And to think that this goof-show is set in the same universe. Even as a standalone action comedy Argylle still falls short of expectations. Mr. Vaughn might want to rethink the tone of his movies in future entries of the franchise. This might be the first Hollywood movie where the top billed actor appears for a total of four minutes in the over two hours duration of the movie. Sorry Henry Cavil but you should erase Argylle from your resume.
The Color Purple (1985)
A TRUE CINEMATIC MASTERPIECE
There's only just one word to describe this movie...MASTERPIECE! No other movie compares to The color purple in terms of its depiction of the trials a black young female American undergoes in the 1900s. Director Steven Spielberg has clearly shown himself the master of drama.
WarHunt (2022)
WASTED OPPORTUNITIES
Movie had a lot of potentials and could have been great with better execution but they threw it all away. Maybe the filmmakers will have better luck next time but this ain't it.
Valimai (2022)
A TOTAL SHAM
Valimai's director might've failed to meet expectations with his mediocre and badly written/directed movie, but he certainly succeeded in proving one thing, that the Tamil police force are a whole bunch of stupid lot.
Barbarossa (2009)
OUTRAGEOUS...
I have only one word for this movie. RIDICULOUS. Ok maybe two. STUPID. Every aspiring filmmaker out there needs to watch this movie bcos it's a lesson on 'HOW NOT TO MAKE AN EPIC MOVIE'.
Kung Fury (2015)
AWESOME
WOW! I can't believe someone actually had the balls to make this funny, exciting and extremely zany movie. I can't wait to see the feature length version come next year with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Black as Night (2021)
WASTE OF TIME
I'd skip this one if I were you. Cause it's stupid. It's lame. And it's utterly ridiculous.
There's Someone Inside Your House (2021)
ILLOGICAL...
TSIYH has the potential to be a decent slasher flick, but instead turns out to be an illogical mess due to lazy writing. The writers just put in random actions with no logical explanation, making the entire movie a dull and boring experience.
O Nó do Diabo (2018)
MISSED OPPORTUNITY
The movie has a very good premise and the opportunity to be something really great. Instead it ends up being a mishmash of disjointed scenes all stringed together with meaningless shots. I wish the writer and director were able to find a clear path for this movie instead of trying to make it out into something it's not.
Malignant (2021)
AND KING JAMES DOES IT AGAIN
James Wan's latest effort might be the year's best action/horror movie. The pacing never lets up and the action never stops. It started out feeling like a mix of Insidious and the conjuring, before shifting gear into full blown action mode. You'll most probably not be scared by this movie (I wasn't), but you're going to be thrilled. Trust me, this is a whole new level of action horror.
Sweet Girl (2021)
A SOLID EFFORT
Turns out this movie is actually better than most people give it credit for. Nothing new, just kindda like Hannah, but with a surprising plot twist in the third act. Solid performances by Jason and Isabella. The director knows what he was doing with the action, so that came out pretty decent.
The Show (2020)
SKINCRAWLER
This movie makes my skin crawl and i don't mean that as a compliment. The movie looks like a caricature of several British TV shows badly joined together. Utterly without meaning or substance. Everyone praising the movie must either be directly involved with it or was handsomely paid. Don't waste your time watching this trash, but on the other hand, if you're prepared to throw 2 hours of your life down the drain, then by all means, please go ahead.
Demonic (2021)
WASTED POTENTIAL
This movie had the potential to be a really great thrill ride, but I think somewhere along the line, everyone involved lost interest and think it's best to wrap it up as early as possible. It jumps to scenes of bloody killings and burning people without showing how it actually happened. Sorry Neil, maybe you'll get it right the next time, but this foray into the horror genre just doesn't cut it.
The New Mutants (2020)
Hollywood cash grab
Hollywood seems to be keen on taking us on a long walk of disappointments this year. As if the year isn't bad enough. First was the annoying Mulan that took forever to get released, and now it's the new mutant. One would think that after such a long time in the making the movie would actually be worth the wait. But no. They have to throw in every leftover ideas from past X-Men and Wolverine movies to come up with this trash. Poor script, cliché acting, annoying CGI and to top it all off a lesbian scene. I mean who shows that in a PG rated movie. I'm not against anyone seeing this, but just know you're about to waste 95 minutes of your precious life.
