Step by Step (1991)
Distribution errors, but great show!
When I binge-watched the show, I had not seen it in years. Has great chemistry between the actors and storyline. Only downside, if you are following plot and content, the series was shown originally on two different networks.
First five seasons on ABC and last two on CBS. Later it was made into a dvd set that got little to no attention. Now that it is on various streaming services, my one recommendation is to have a lineup of the episodes as originally aired on broadcast tv and play the episodes in order to get a better scope of the storyline.
By doing so, you won't be confused by all the random changes as to who is who or even the romantic interests of all the cast members.
The Great: The Great (2020)
Pop culture adequate
This version of the Catherine the Great story is mostly good for the pop-culture fans
. It is not historically accurate and it is full of propaganda. The best thing to realize is that as the opening credits mention, this is "an occasionally true story". If anyone expects this to be a historically accurate dramatization, you will be sorely disappointed. I gave this series a rating of 5 simply because it was entertaining at times.
Turner & Hooch: The Fur-gitive (2021)
Great episode
Was awesome to see Disney raise awareness for military vets and veteran combat dogs. On another note, I was glad to see Reginald VelJohnson included in this episode. From my youth watching TGIF on ABC, VelJohnson was America's dad and upstanding role model. If anything, I hope we see more of Reginald and vote him as America's grandpa.
Mr. Iglesias (2019)
Funny but too political
I think that Gabriel Iglesias and the entire acting staff are performing at an exceptional level. However, Netflix has lost its ever loving mind. They keep on pushing the social justice projects and trying to insert comedy in between. Comedy is supposed to be an escape from politics in the world in general. Drama it's supposed to be just merely part of the scripting. It's not post to consume it. If I wanted to throw myself into political debate, I would just watch every news channel out there. However, I like to escape and not have to think about the worlds problems for a few minutes. In my opinion Netflix is taking their political views too far and they're projecting it on shows like this. Whether we like it or not Netflix and these actors are not doing this because they feel for the causes. They're doing it for the money. So for a change why not just entertain and leave the politics to the politicians.
Hellboy (2019)
Ron Perlman did it better!
I'm not ragging on the cast, the filming crew, or anybody else who worked on the project, but the original Hellboy writers and Guillermo Del Toro did a lot better job. Ron Perlman and Guillermo Del Toro should've had another chance to do a proper Hellboy movie. Ron is Hellboy. The only reason I gave this movie four stars is because it falls in line with the comic book dramatics and costume design, more or less. The script was not all that great. The plot was very subpar.
Tacoma FD (2019)
Fairly funny series, snowflake humor
It has its moments for crude and drug culture humor. Would not recommend watching this series through VOD because you will be interrupted by the same 3-4 commercials frequently.
The Legend of the Lone Ranger (1981)
Better than the more recent Lone Ranger movie.
Compare to the atrocity that Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer produces, this was actually a good movie. The production was plagued because Clayton Moore was banned from using the mask that had made him so famous. It also had to compete with Raiders of the Lost Ark. This movie is not in the same genre or of the same quality as ROLA but it was a good plot and acting was decent.
