The Gray Man (2022)
One timer
Love Prague (even when Prague is Bangkok or Vienna... Or Berlin).
Action is ok (however John Wick is more hardcore).
Unfortunately the scenario is super flat. There is no acting, simply no room for acting - straight action, no twists. Sad because these actors are amazing. Evil guy is... well... Let's say that this evil character we all will forget (hello Anton Chigurh, I still remember your name after all these years).
Picture overall mixed feelings - sometimes it's a way too dark and blurry, sometimes it looks stunning.
Expected more but as one timer you'll never get back to - works.
Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
Why bother?
Why bother being smart, kick-ass or evil? Bad are bad just because, good are good just because. There is literary no sense in character actions and most of the times they act childish.
Why bother if you can use the force to read minds now?
Why bother if you can stop anything from moving with the force but it will ruin the storyline, right? Transports must fly away, droid must take Obi Wan away. Yeh, just stand and stare Vader, do not bother acting because you are evil (wonder why there was no epic Noooo! Scream in that particular scene)
Why bother acting if the script is bad? Ewan McGregor you are a great actor, you really try hard but why you've every decided to go with this script?
Why bother if people will subscribe to watch it just because on the name?
Great sadness that such an amazing opportunity to tell the amazing story is lost like tears in rain.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022)
2/3rd of the movie makes no sense
Feel free to watch beginning, then take 1.5 hour nap, and then watch the end. Every single action or story in the middle of the movie does not somehow affect the storyline. At all. Like characters do stuff which eventually makes no sense at all, why then you need so many characters? :)
House of Gucci (2021)
Wow that's boring
Never thought that a story about Italian fashion family played by such a wonderful cast (minus Lady Gaga, sorry) could be soooo boring. Stopped watching somwhere at the middle and don't want to go back.
Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts (2022)
J. K. Rowling
As a huge fan of Harry Potter books and all the movies I cannot share my sincerest sadness for not seeing J. K. here. People who talk and dream about Howards culture should never let friend behind. That is sad and entire project doesn't look, sound and feel truly honest. With or without new modern world ideas you should never let your friends down.
Cruella (2021)
Very flat movie
1. Actors are doing their best.
2. Soundtrack, the set is perfect but feels like the person who was selecting it just randomly squeeze good tracks in totally random moments. Does not work that way.
3. Costumes? Yeh, fine, but after 30 minutes you get used to it and simply do not pay attention.
4. Screenplay, thanks but no go. Have you ever seen angry dalmatian? Some scenes are complelety copied from Amily in Paris.
P. S. Guys please do not compare it with birds of pray - no one ever watched it till the end ;)
Black Widow (2021)
Yep, Russians talk fullnames all the time (no we don't)
Reminds me that fith element scene where Korban asks Leeloo for a sorter name ;)
That just makes me laugh so hard - all Russians here are so evil, that they talk with each other using fullnames.
If you don't get it: saying Alexei in Russian every time is like saying Timothy or Robert instead of Tim and Bob. Which makes it terribly official (non family/close relative kinda style)
Common guys, you should have talked with Russian speaking consultant, right?
Regarding the movie... Nah.. basic, nothing new.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Ok, it's bad
There were so much marketing saying how better this movie is and how Gunn made suicide squad shine...
Ok, it's bad, flat, not funny, no story behind the characters. No surprises, some moments make no sences (still don't understand why the evil genius is not that smart... Seems like these light bulbs in his head does not work... Oh, wait, we don't know why he needs those and how they work at all).
My expectation was - guardians of the Galaxy type of move with different context, but not even close. Seems that director is not the one who can make it happen ;)
Believe it or not... first move was better, still was terrible and flat, but better than this one for sure. There was some story and there were some characters with the story behind these characters.
Also I am super surprised with the amount of positive feedback here (and do not really believe it).
The Kominsky Method (2018)
Did not get it, sorry
I really tried, but more it tried more it felt like Californication sequel for old people :)
Ogon (2020)
Good actors, perfect picture, terrible movie
Unfortunately the movie, to be concrete, requires good scenario, average director skills and a little bit of common sense. None of above is here, so... total disaster (which is sad because of the perfect cast and huge budget). Safe to ignore and not waste time.
