This movie did something to me and I cant tell you what it is. But I love the feeling.

Often you get a mediocre story, that lives through the amazing acting. Or you get mediocre acting, that lives through an amazing story. But not with shutter Island.

The acting is wonderful and the story just gets you.

You think, you know where all of this goes but then you realize - you dont. It is the right amount scary and thrilling but also gets you to emotionally connect with the characters.

I have watched Shutter Island about 4 times and everytime I see something new. The love for detail is on point.

This is an absolute MUST WATCH in my books.

Please don't pay money to watch it - wait until you can stream it somewhere so you at least don't pay for your disappointment.

The trailer promised me so many things - So many great things! But the movie couldn't be more disappointing. The story didn't make any sense, there were so so many plotholes and the characters were straight up unbearable. I really really wanted to like this film, but it proved throughout that it just isn't thought through. I was visually very impressed tho, but that really does not make up for a bad story.

I think, the amazing trailer made the experience of watching the movie worse. My very high expectations were crushed.

Did I give this movie a higher ranking, because it has Ryan in it? - Yes. Am I ashamed because of this - Not really.

You get exactly what you expect. Loads of somewhat funny lines, an OK storyline and loooads of references. But thats about it. No character development, no real depth and sometimes a really slow progression in the story. It kinda bugged me, that they relied so heavily on apperances. (Ninja, Jacksepticeye, Pokemane, Chris Hemsworth, fortnite, Hulk ..) I also hope, this takes place in an dimension with somewhat magic computers - otherwise this whole thing wouldn't make the least bit of sense.

All in all, it wasn't bad - but I could've defenately watched something better =)

This movie just takes the cake. I strongly believe that there is no perfect movie. But oh boy does this movie come close to it. Phoenix did an amazing job at portraying the Joker. You know the feeling when something is just right. Yeah, thats what I've felt watching Joker. I could write so many things about this movie, but I don't need to. Go watch it and be amazed. No more words needed!

I love Vin Diesel. But this movie is a Vin Diesel movie like any other. Lots and lots of action and a rather thin story behind it. The movie wasn't bad, but it was very predictable. The story had some good elements which could have made for a great movie. It just seems unfinished. I would not go and see it at the movies, its not worth the money.

I actually had to watch the movie twice because I could not believe it the first time I watched it. The movie was bland and left a sour taste in my mouth. There were few elements in the film that I liked but sadly even more elements that I strongly disliked - like the cheap jumpscares and the overall weird and uncoordinated relationship between the characters. Speaking of characters, what the hell was that with Louis Creed? He had no backstory and was a total miss for me. And Zelda also seemed a bit random. I cant really point a finger at what is making the movie so bad for me - because I think its kind of everywhere. I think if they only waited a bit more and put more thought in it - it could have been a good film. So overall, would I recomend it? Not really. Is it the worst movie? No but its far from the best.
